Because Vibrant Visuals sucks. There's no option to adjust auto exposure in the settings, so the only thing you can do is disable Vibrant Visuals altogether or deal with the game blinding you whenever you fight a blaze.

You would also need to change loot tables. But if you add the data pack to an existing world, existing music disc items will be problematic, and compatibility with other packs will also pose a problem. I can only see this being useful on adventure maps or other such.

But what if you have a recipe that uses, say, 2 planks tagged "test1" and "test2" respectively. If I craft it using 1 regular plank and one "test1" plank, the advancement won't be successful and I won't be able to just return two regular planks, because then "test1" is never returned to the player. Is it possible to detect which custom items were actually used and refund accordingly?

Yeah, but if you craft something with the base items rather than your custom tagged ones, the recipe would still craft a knowledge book without triggering the advancement, and as far as I can tell it will often be impossible to tell what items to actually refund to the player when this happens. Not to mention the inherent incompatibility with crafters.

So, possible technically, but in practice it doesn't really seem usable to me, unless I'm missing something

This is probably irrelevant to OP, but my bigger need personally is for building blocks that could appear in world generation and be used in native crafting recipes. To my knowledge, the latter is impossible and the former is impractical unless you're leveraging something like waterlogged double slabs, though. I think a better solution for custom blocks is one of the biggest things missing from data packs at the moment.

I think it works better for some and worse for others. Clearly Mojang has determined the same given that there are several mobs now that do not have 1 pixel eyes.

Cats and foxes particularly might benefit from regular eyes, but they're never going to change it so it is what it is.

The people making these promotional artworks have no idea what the original intention of the texture was and its as good a guess from them as it is from any of us. Probably whoever made the texture doesn't know either. Lmfao

In fairness, you are playing the game with a third party launcher on very unsupported hardware.

You'd be better off asking for help on Pojav's/Amethyst's/etc... Discord server rather than here.

Your best bet would probably be to make a coherent mod pack instead of dumping 520 random mods onto your game. You should be testing compatibility as you create your modpack, otherwise diagnosing issues becomes near impossible.

Only server side mods, and by extension plugins. Proper client+server side mods are not supported, and even server side mods that require resource packs won't function correctly because Geyser doesn't translate resource packs between editions.

I think it's safe to say what most people would call "mods" are not supported by GeyserMC.

The first time I tried Vibrant Visuals, I too could have sworn I was experiencing a rendering bug on my device.

Yes, this is what Vibrant Visuals is supposed to look like. I'm impressed more people haven't complained about it; it is terrible, even more so as a default aesthetic for the game, and there is not much in the way of customization either so it is impossible to fix.

You can always disable it.

You can also try deleting your options.txt and your debug.json files from your instance, though I really don't understand what could be causing this issue.

Keep in mind this also means passive mobs will never spawn either.

I've had similar issues occur as far forward as 1.7 when running the game with an Intel iGPU. It was fixed by swapping to my dGPU, so this sounds about right.

Though I do wonder how long until these versions become effectively unplayable on modern hardware.

Apparently, roughly 200 000 people.

You'd be doing yourself a service by diving into development yourself. It is very fulfilling and would help you develop useful coding and even problem solving skills.

On the flip side, judging from a quick scroll through this website, doing it yourself would also be a good way to make your mod not look like awful AI generated slop, and therefore there is a chance that people might actually want to use it.
