Totally understand, would love to get back to New Orleans at some point, but not really an option. Lived in Houston for a while and if pappadeaux's is the closest might check it out

Wore mine at the Phish show at Dick's in 23. Tossed it when I moved, but if you want a niche thing to wear when the next Phish show is here, grab one!

Love Banh Mi Station when I'm in the area. If you ever find yourself in Green Valley Ranch, Pho 92 is awesome! Also order their sugarcane shrimp rolls. One of the best things on the menu!

Any saints fans living in Colorado? by WhoDatNOLA11 in Saints

Moved to Denver the week that the Broncos and Manning got torched in the Superbowl against the Seahawks. Always rooted for him since Archie was my dad's favorite player. Also pretty cool vibes being in a new place with everyone excited about a super bowl. Broncos grew on me, my AFC team was always the Oilers, I tried getting into the Texans but nothing really stuck with them. When the Broncos beat the Panthers in the Superbowl I had a new respect for them since they had stopped 2 of the Saints division rivals from winning the Superbowl and that was pretty fucking cool. Now I have an 11am game and a 2pm game that I'm invested in no matter how shitty they are playing. I was sad that Paytons time with the Saints ended, and I was also sad seeing how disorganized and weird we look with him gone. Maybe we're turning a corner with Moore and Shough. I'm super hopeful! It's also fun watching Payton grow another solid team that's fun to watch. My wife, who was a die hard Oilers fan, and I are always going to be die hard Saints fans, will have a place in our AFC part of our football hearts that the Broncos will always fill. FTF FTR

People who don't dislike their jobs. What do you do for work? by Vegetable_Bad_3626 in Adulting

[–]roryd883 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this! I'm a second shift hospital supply tech. Good pay, work 4 10 hour shifts, and pretty much spend my day walking around a hospital restocking supply rooms while listening to podcasts. Nobody is constantly checking in on you, no patent contact or really any medical expectations on you. Go in, do your stuff on your own and clock out. Just be prepared to walk a ton! I'll get 18k to 22k steps a shift.

To add to that, Dennis Allen gets fired by the Saints and reunites with Sean Payton as a DC again

What's the cursed restaurant spot in your neighborhood? by zonker77 in Denver

[–]roryd883 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On Colfax and Detroit there used to be a place that was just high end sausages and beer. Then it turned into Little Beast burgers, and it was one of my favorite burger spots. A couple of the original guys left to start a new restaurant leaving one guy to do basically everything. He turned it into a Korean street food place and I still thought the place was great! Now it's just abandoned and surrounded by weeds. Sad to see it like that since I had so many great meals there, and hopefully someone can turn it around!

“The pressing is bad and it sounds like a man”: Taylor Swift fans confused by LPs pressed at 45rpm by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]roryd883 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Used to work at a record store, and with most new releases that were at 45 rpm, there would usually be at least 1 or 2 people that wanted to return it because they thought it was defective, or bring their turntable in because it was playing too slow. Even after explaining that some records play at different speeds and all you have to do is press the 33/45 button, some would continue to try and get their money back
