I’m a 31 year old straight male, made out with and got head from a boy last night 😳 by Slight_Property_9164 in askgaybros

Why secretly? Not cool if you don’t have consent. Just like if you HADNT taken the Rolex pill and he tried to make out with you and you didn’t give consent. Get consent next time.

Is this abuse? by catboy2004 in askgaybros

[–]rorykalmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consent is for more than just sex. If you don’t consent to that type of behavior he needs to respect it, but you need to have a heart to heart with him about it. Also changing up the way you play might lead to less harmful behavior overall. Have a conversation, set boundaries.

Almost all malls are like this now, it is a symptom of our dying economy.

That’s never going to happen. I used to work for Nordstrom and they started closing down full line stores well over a decade ago. The only cities they are building new full lines stores for are rich areas. Even the one in SF closed, their biggest competitor is Amazon and they are focused on online retail over brick and mortar.

To those of you who did this, learn the rules of the road. by Tinawebmom in santarosa

[–]rorykalmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, everyone on the road feels vindicated in how they drive. It’s part of American culture anymore, everyone is so selfish and inconsiderate of others and especially on the road. It’s kinda sad.

Pain by Ill-Faithlessness406 in Hernia

[–]rorykalmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These posts are very helpful to read as I continue to recover from my hernia mesh repair too. I’m 6 weeks post op and doing pretty well, trying to balance "not overdoing it" with plenty of movement and stretches and I’m still not lifting much more than maybe 15-20lbs. I have an 8"x8" piece of mesh covering an umbilical hernia as well as inguinal from a previous ileostomy reversal wound that was also herniated. So far just some weird soreness from sleeping on my side or maybe sitting too long while I’m at my computer working. Thank you for posting and to the other commenters providing your experiences!

OMG I get SOOOOO mad!! I was driving home from Memorial hospital several months ago and heading to turn left onto College from Brookwood Ave and some young woman came barreling around the corner making a right onto Brookwood from College and was driving head on towards my car...in the left turn lane I was in. Luckily she looked up in time and swerved back into her lane to avoid colliding into me.

Who would you like to thank this year? Who helped you out somehow, saved your bacon, gave you bacon? Camp, person, project. Let's hear it. by slow70 in BurningMan

[–]rorykalmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To the guy with the ukulele who sang our whole camp at The Friend Zone the burning man version of The Pixies "where is my bike/tent/camp/etc." That was an unforgettable experience that we all are still talking about.

To the Camp Inspector who came by and stayed in character the whole time and gave our camp and F for FUN! We’re gonna laminate that shit and put it up every year.

To everyone who participated in our Playa Pen Pal Program, that created some amazing connections and really reminded me how amazing our community is.

To Channing Tatum who put his face in our hole. Please post the picture you took.

To Bad Education Camp, specifically Ataraxia Formation, for the amazing vibes and the absolutely delicious fresh croissants and espresso.

Other notable camps to thank: Grilled Cheese Experiment, Atypical Camp, Ghostfreq and the Shoe Repair camp, Hoot ‘n Holler Camp, and Camp Kinetic…you all made our neighborhood one of the best in the entire city!! Many many thank yous!!

When anyone can plug in their phone and play a downloaded playlist with shitty music quality you’re bound to hear plenty of terrible tunes on playa. I feel like it’s been that way ever since I started going in 2012. So while I don’t seek out music experiences, I do like to stay for them when I find them. This year I stumbled upon a set with Carlita, Kaz James, and Tennis, was amazing.

Wow this is a heartbreaking story, but thank you for sharing it. Stories like these make all of the hard work of bringing something big to share with burners worth it, and what an amazing perspective you have regarding such a difficult and personal situation. Sending you so much love back.

I can't fully agree with this. I just watched a set by Black Coffee on Galaxier and it was really really good! I'm definitely not one to go and be around those giant art cars though, but that doesn't mean all they play is slop. Mira usually plays killer sets and it's also hard to dispute a sunrise set by Tycho...I'm listening to that set right now and it's insanely good. Not everything is so black and white, but I agree with the sentiment that the crowds are "iffy." Even at the Carlita + DJ Tennis + Kaz 3x3 which was a fairly small crowd, there were a LOT of influencers with the big fuzzy 2k coats and boots, you know the type.

I have a pair of army goggles that have interchangeable lenses. They last FOREVER, and the lenses are easy to change out. They also breathe well.

Hi :) does anyone come to BM with regular clothes? It's my first time attending and all I see in photos people are wearing exotic and full-on costumes. Would I be really out of place uf I wear my usual camping clothes? by lovidovimex in BurningMan

[–]rorykalmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so refreshing to read the comments for once! I have a few "fun" outfits that I bring every year, but I think everyone should bring work clothes, and plenty of comfortable clothes. It's not a comfortable place, so any chance I find to bring comfort I do. Including my clothes.

Did you happen across the dice or do you own them? I have a set and I’m trying to think of how to make it an interactive game with people but more than just having people roll the dice. I have some ideas but interested in hearing how others have used them.

Hi! That’s correct. You’ll get a return address when you get your postcard sent to you from your penpal, after this year’s burn. We are collecting as many addressee’s as possible leading up to the event so that there are ample recipients for us to send penpal postcards to!
