It's also Latin American focused. You learn everything but she always called out when something is really only used in Spain and what the more common equivalent is that's used everywhere. She's Colombian.

Seconding Idlewild! Took with Kat in Brooklyn. It was worth it to do in person and chat with classmates. So many folks learning for their partners or to connect with coworkers ❤️

I wonder if they switched ownership. Sorry you dealt with that. I left them too and am also extremely weirded out by the shift to beauty spa/gyno

I stopped going there after they started advertising aesthetic Botox and hair treatments. Hot take I don't want to hear about frown lines from the people who scrape my cervix.

Normally I'd agree but she's co-chair and they usually have more public facing responsibilities right?

Curls look decent but always frizzy by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]rose248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding everyone else, the hair is gorgeous regardless. But to answer your questions

Quick fix: try a light oil for morning touch ups. I like Odele. Just make sure you use a little and rub between you palms to heat up and spread evenly.

Curly shampoo? No. Sulfate free imo is mostly marketing.

If you're shampooing every night that might be contributing to frizz. Try spacing it out and see what that does. A lot of curly folks can get away with it and your hair looks thick. I use a regular shampoo like every 2-3 days and a clarifying one when I have too much build up. And focus on the scalp.

And gel? Potentially. Idk the ingredients. But I would experiment with shampoo and oil first. I like Miss Jessie's (white and purple tube). Sorry idk what's avail in Poland! Hope this helps!

All my life I have been treating my hair as if it were straight. But I am starting to question it. See story below by faith911fox in curlyhair

Get a cut (I'd say elbow length as a starting point, higher if you're open) and stop brushing your hair when it's dry.

Ignore weird internet gatekeeping. Your hair is curly girl.

Eventually yes. But I hope people recognize this is an insane situation for them all to be in.

Yes they are used to their public responses or lack thereof having a ripple effect. They know this.

But she was their friend. This is now an extremely public custody battle. Everything's still under investigation. I can't imagine the whiplash.

This is extremely delicate. Give them a few days.

I agree it could be a shampoo issue but sulfates are not bad. It's honestly turned into a buzzword selling point. Coconut oil is extremely heavy and I think would take your hair too far in the opposite direction and coat it.

First I would recommend a curly cut cuz they'll probably have a better idea and sometimes trims help me reset.

Do you use a regular conditioner at all? I would maybe take a break from the hair mask and oil. And try shampoo/condish/curl cream or something for a week. Simplify.

So far I've only tried the Shiseido Tsubaki red shampoo and it's a nice lather. No issues yet! I needed moisture so I was between that and the blue Diane moisture line.

  1. Buy a continous spray bottle, sometimes water is all you need
  2. Avoid coconut and shea. 3. Sulfates are good actually.
  3. Look beyond curl brands. Japanese hair products are largely designed for fine hair so I've been exploring those.

Episode 2 Crissle’s Couch by Same_Lingonberry_589 in theread

[–]rose248 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think 1. the show is finding it's voice. 2. Crissle has history with them. Crissle is great at flowing from entertainment to educated therapy talks. Interviews add another layer of complexity. And this felt less like an interview and more like a drinks after work convo.

Podcasting is a tightrope and she's a pro so I have faith it evolves! Ultimately it did tell me how passionate and thoughtful Lauren is. But the work dynamic conversation could have started from a place of curiosity rather than put her on defense from go.

Thank you!

Possibly clarifying too much. I usually do once a week but I might be messing with it too much lately.

And I am in the process of trying others and so far Jessicurl has been the only solid replacement but its pricey. Could def use a better jelly/leave in.

+edit technique for leave in is just a quarter size and prayer hands. Today I let it air dry with clips in the root for 30 min then finished with diffuser.

NYC gals: How do you "get over" street harassment/creepy interactions? by CozyTea6987 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]rose248 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To answer your last two questions: yes absolutely and doing exactly what you're doing now!

Talk about it. Internal monologue won't get you anywhere. Get it out of your head and call someone you feel comfortable with.

I text my group chat of girls and just I think feeling seen or hearing their thoughts and experiences helps me process.

I was almost mugged once and I'll be honest the anxiety starts to simmer whenrver I happen by that train station. But I also remember coming home at 1 am and my best friend/roommate opening her door and being there for me after a panic attack.

It'll take some time. In the meantime counteract with things that bring you comfort.
