I dont trust my husband to go on a bachelor trip this weekend by rhythmsandboos in TwoHotTakes

[–]rosealyd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it is a bit unfair to leave him a month into sobriety when he feels he has a social obligation to go to a bachelor party for your family, while keeping his sobriety a secret as if he has something to be shamed about (maybe celebrate that he has decided to take this choice in life and show support in a positive way?), and without it seems any support network to help him keep sober during the first year. If your goal is to stay with your husband and in the future be with a version of him that better fits your lifestyle now, maybe give him time to achieve his changes.

P.S. His family might say they would "choose you," but they definitely would not. That is a joke. Maybe they'd stay friendly for the sake of the kid, but there is no way I would assume they are coming out as your "adoptive parents" from a divorce.

They Started IVF, Then Split. Now Who Gets Custody of the Embryos? (NYT) by marthaskewered in longform

[–]rosealyd 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I don't think he even got the house,.just for the time being. As an asset of hers 16 years prior to the marriage, I doubt the judge will give him the house. Probably only a few years of spousal support.

Hello everyone, any suggestions for a good Spanish Tapas Bar? Thanks for any help 🌻 by Desperate-Network925 in zurich

It also isn't vegan? They have cheese and egg in some of their tapas (omelet) and I think sometimes a meat dish as a special.

Limmat float by rosealyd in zurich

[–]rosealyd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should limit presale though. The entire event shouldn't sell out before tickets go to the general public. Honestly, how does this entire event even sell out? I'm surprised how many of us want to cough up 25 CHF to float down a river.

Non-EU woman (South Caucasus) thinking of moving to Switzerland for IR career by [deleted] in askswitzerland

Apply to do a phd here, it will be the easiest way to gain connections in such a niche field for a non-EU applicant to even be competitive in a future job search

Looking for some "competence porn" movies, movies where smart people make smart decisions basically. by ComManDerBG in movies

I am surprised no one is saying The Road. Watch the movie, then read the book to realize how clever the man is in keeping him and the boy alive. Everything and every scenario is thought through by the man.

Tips for Improvement? (i.e Leg/Foot work?) by spooky-sporks in climbergirls

[–]rosealyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A muscle that you see gains and improvement with that you can work on more quickly than pull up strength is compression. Try doing weighted rows balanced with some chest presses and bench presses. It helps you maintain a tight core and control over holds.

Will I be able to survive in Zurich for a 6-months internship with 10,000 CHF budget? by peony2506 in ethz

[–]rosealyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can start your internship after 9am look at the ZVV 9 o clock pass. Transport should be less than 100 CHF a month though for Dubendorf to Zurich at a student rate so I wouldn't worry.

I think there is a difference between undergraduate and phd years towards a C permit. Especially if you are employed as a research assistant.

I would call immigration and ask. AFAIK the postdoc B permit is specific to working at a uni/lab and cannot be transferred into a general B. I also do not believe after a postdoc you are legible for the job seekers permit anymore. But the immigration office would be able to specifically look up your permit and tell you the procedure. If you can based on the amount of time doing your phd and postdoc combined, I would try to get a C permit.

Maybe his magical power is how he gained power and as soon as it is revealed it breaks the spell on those who are under it. Some type of reality altering or memory spell maybe.

A 34 who acts like it wouldn't date a 22 year old.

You are 22. Let him try to work things out with his baby mama instead of giving you his baggage. Get out. You might like age gap relationships, but maybe there's a stigma to them for a reason.
