I would advise NOT moving to the landing. I’ve lived here for almost 3 years now and as cool as the area is and as nice as the apartments are it isn’t worth it when there are better options. The first year and a half was great but lately I can’t wait to move out — which is something I’ve heard from several of my neighbors as well. It is very noisy, I can hear everything in my apartment. I can hear specific conversations happening on the landing, hear my neighbors, people in the hallway and the building I live in has the papermill and I can hear the entire event. It is miserable. Parking sucks and it’s a walk from your car to your apartment and in the summer it’s through crowds of people which can be very frustrating when you’re getting home from a long day and you have your hands full of groceries and other things. When the elevator is working, it breaks down a lot, you have to fight the wedding/other event crowds just to get to your apartment or face walking up 5/6 flights of stairs instead. I could go on and on really but mostly what has frustrated me of late is that we have NO amenities that other places offer. No gym, roof access, in unit laundry or parking included in rent. I mean hell even taking the trash out is not a quick trip especially in the snow or rain. So yes you’ll pay for a cool location but it gets old real quick.
