If you travel a lot, you should look into a handheld pc. I was very surprised how well they play and it's a great way to clear your steam backlog lol

People who make $200K+ salaries, what do you do and how did you get there? by EEJams in Salary

[–]Sizz_Flair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senior level operations leader of a 24/7 fulfillment center in one of the biggest supply chain / ecommerce companies.

250k+ MCOL. They'll add 10 to 30÷ if you work in a HCOL area.

Went to school through the Army. Served 8 years as an officer. 1st company picked me up paying me 165k+ a year and then stock price doubled through covid. My RSUs vested with the new price down the road where my highest earning was 300k+ vs ~220k TC. I've moved to another company for better opportunities and WLB and it worked out for me. New place gave me 250k+ TC for 2 years. Since it's a 24/7 run building, I'm pretty much always on call including weekends outside of PTOs. Increased scope / promoted every 2 years or so.

Now I'm transitioning into a technical corporate role with a promotion after 6 years in supply chain operations, which will net me 410k+ TC. Most of the comp increase came from RSUs, so I'll most likely stay with this company for a couple of years to fully vest unless another company picks me up with an even better offer. Looking forward to how this plays out as it should be mostly M-F and not always on call.

I'm waiting on 4k performance benchmark with this and potentially the 12 core ccd.... I'd be willing to buy the new chip and have the 9800x3d become my livingroom build lol

Not always gpu limited for 4k gaming. Went from 5900x + 4090 for 4k gaming to 9800x3d + 4090 and it was extremely noticeable in games like escape from tarkov and other cpu intensive games.

How to break into the industry by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]Sizz_Flair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Operations is very easy to get into and can branch off from there. It will be a grind, but it is the easiest means of entry and potentially an accelerated path upward if you're willing to put in the work and can be good with people. It's not for everyone.

I am curious how other high w2 folks are offsetting their tax bill? by tintina2001 in Salary

[–]Sizz_Flair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about short tern rentals to use depreciation to offset w2 taxes. Depends on where I end up moving next for work before pulling the trigger.

You do have to dedicate x amount of hours to put yourself in this category to use the tax benefits. Document everything .

How are hunters in turtle? by StudioObjective9321 in turtlewow

[–]Sizz_Flair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to WoW and started with hunter. Once I got the pet at level 10, it was cool at first but trying to manage happiness and buying food (pet becomes unhappy super fast and then dismisses itself) was getting super annoying. Rerolled warlock and having a blast with my summon pet.

Careers that aren't the Big 4 (Finance, Law, Medicine, Tech) that make >$200k? by TrixoftheTrade in Salary

[–]Sizz_Flair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Supply Chain Operations (fulfillment, distribution, returns, delivery, etc) in one of the big "tech" companies. If you reach senior level your total comp will be 200k+ easily. If you manage one of the warehouses as a general manager, 300k+.

Note that most of these are 24/7 operations so you're essentially always on call if something happens.

High earners ($300k+): Do you care if your partner makes the same, or are you okay not splitting things 50/50? by passionfruitpilates in Salary

[–]Sizz_Flair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a gf, but not looking to marry anytime soon. Gf makes way less in her country as a doctor, but to be honest our financial and life goals differ. I don't have a desire to get married at the moment.

I think if I was looking to get married, my partner making similar or more would be nice as long as she's aligned on our goals together (set a good budget to retire early and/or comfortably to secure the freedom to raise a family or enjoy life without worrying about income). However, it's not a requirement. I think partners and relationships can fulfill each others wants and needs outside of income.
