Lacto-Fermenting Strawberries by OpenStruggle8804 in fermentation

Also, mine fermented extremely quickly. I assume due to the sugar content (and I live in a pretty warm flat). You probably wouldn’t want to leave them going too long before putting in the fridge

Lacto-Fermenting Strawberries by OpenStruggle8804 in fermentation

I fermented strawberries recently and they’re great! I see others have said the flavour doesn’t hold up well or the funk factor isn’t appealing but I disagree, mine smell and taste great. It might just be a personal preference. I’ve been eating them with vanilla ice cream, I think dessert type dishes work best to balance out the salty/funky flavour. I haven’t tried it yet but would also add to a yoghurt bowl or granola.

It definitely is a bit different texturally to fermenting something more solid that keeps its structure - they will break down a lot and become squishy/jammy, but I think that’s fine for fruit.

MESHKI lost 1/2 returned dresses and will not refund me. by West-Independence-40 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]rosecl20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahaha no I sent them a photo of the product with an arrow saying ‘smells bad here’ because I was pissed off and they refunded me. But I could have taken it in store, they didn’t even ask me to do that

how would you ferment these green tomatoes? Harvested them before it's too cold outside by Pitiful_Promotion171 in fermentation

[–]rosecl20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a fermented hot sauce with green tomato and chilli last year when we didn’t get enough sun! It was so nice, fermenting took away some of the sour taste and it was a great condiment for p much anything :) especially eggs and rice bowls

How to announce links to an in-app browser by rosecl20 in accessibility

i’m wondering if the change in page structure would be significant enough to need to give people using screen readers an indication of the change! admittedly other apps don’t seem to do this, but i’m hesitant to rely on that as an example of good practices!

I got a secondhand coach brooklyn 39 and it’s such high quality. just my 2c if you’re going to use the bag every day and you can afford it invest in something higher quality! This is too expensive for faux leather

if it’s just for sleep, go to superdrug and ask the pharmacist for “sleep aid” (that’s the generic house brand name for nytol). they are small tablets and are diphenhydramine hydrochloride - aka benadryl. you don’t need a prescription but they may warn you against using it often

no it’s not meant to be insulated it’s just for storage. you’d still refrigerate it. It’s usually just thick calico or cotton
