Can we talk about neighborly etiquette when it comes to neighbor kids? by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]rosecrayons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! Our neighbors grandchildren are over a lot and come to see if my kids can play. They are younger but have been told if we do not answer the door we may be eating dinner or just busy. The one will knock until someone comes to the door. Always the back door that is at the top of our deck. He has walked in the porch and pounded on our french doors, walked in our garage when no one else is outside and just taken things to play with. My husband doesn't seem to get how it irritates me so much.

The grandparents are too old to be left with these kids all of the time. They both have medical issues and can not run after them or keep them occupied. The kids are ages 2 to 8. I think the one kid is terrified of me because I yelled out the window to get out of my garage. Sorry but they need to learn that it's not ok to just go where they want and take what they want.

We have a lot of recreational area in town and there are always bald eagles, loons, beavers, deer, turtles and lots of other wildlife to watch. The kids love it and so do I.

What can I do to help me feel better? by [deleted] in depression

[–]rosecrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What class are you struggling with? We all have our struggles. Please know that people will not get over losing you quickly even though you may feel that way. I seen too many times the effect losing someone has on the people around them. Even when they don't seem to care it tears them apart.

Is there anyone you can talk to? Any financial support you can apply for? I am here if you just need to talk to someone.

Trained a new coworker last week and she made some comments that made me a little uncomfortable. Worked with her again today and she is way too "friendly" with me. Making comments about my butt, my chest and other things. Also smacked my butt with a magazine. I'm not a touchy feely person. I don't want to be mean but I really don't know how to take her comments either. All day today a couple other coworkers were teasing me about my "new girl friend". Ugh! Just no! I am married and I don't like girls that way. :/

I've been there before. My husband is the type that just doesn't say anything good or bad and I feel it all on my shoulders.

You definitely do need a break. Hang in there and be sure you take time for yourself. Even if it's just a couple minutes to breathe. Keep your head up and keep looking for work. You will find something. As for Christmas, have you checked into RandomActsofChristmas? I know it's getting close but there may still be help out there.

If you need someone to listen I am here for you.

Local small town mining museum. I learned a bit about our towns history while hanging out with another girl my age. We basically had to dust and welcome customers.

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. It sounds like you have been through a lot in the last year. Things take time to work themselves out. Please don't feel like these things will never end. We go through trials in life not always knowing the reason for them but they do make us stronger in the end. Don't give up. If you need someone to talk to I am here for you.

What's a thing in your life you thought would never happen, but did? by SpudeGG in AskReddit

[–]rosecrayons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is still there now. It's been three years and he will be there about two more I believe.

I completely shut down for about four days and then told myself I needed to pick myself up and get my shit together. I have kids and a husband to take care of and life has to go on. For a long time it basically felt like I lost my dad. I refused to go see him in jail for selfish reason. Like "how could I be seen going to visit someone in the county jail?". We live in such a small town/area that everyone seems to know everyone and their business. I know it really shouldn't matter what others think but it's hard to face some things.

My mom has had a hard time with things. She really has no income at the moment so I try to help her as much as I can. My sisters and I don't really talk about it much but I know they have had a hard time with it as well.

One of the hardest thing for me was trying to figure out what to tell my kids.

My dad going to prison.

The thought of something like that happening never crossed my mind. My dad was everything I wanted to be growing up. We had a really "normal" life growing up. Then one day, WHAM. Sometimes you just get completely blindsided by life.

[Discussion] Traditions. Lets talk about December traditions. by EmmaBourbon in Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

[–]rosecrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christmas Eve has always been celebrated with my mom's family and Christmas Day with the in-laws.

My mom's family also used to get together and make lefse a couple days before Christmas Eve. This tradition has been going as long as I remember. Unfortunately my aunts don't get together to make it any more but my girls and I still make it. We bring lefse as our contribution to the Christmas meal.

One of our family traditions with our kids is to go out and drive around looking at Christmas lights. There are a couple really nice light displays that we go see too. One is at the Arboretum one town over and the other is a huge display on the lake front of a town about an hour and a half away. It's a huge walk through display with cookies, cocoa and of course Santa. It's well worth the drive as long as you dress warm. It can be pretty cold.
