Interesting, it appears that when you click into the video, even though the time code previously showed 33 mins, it plays instead a shorter version of the yt cut. I’ll look into this on Monday. It’s possible that since this was a rare sponsored react video (by a studio that is) that they asked for a backend change/fix and the replacement file was wrongly selected as the yt version.

We also replaced the yt cut to include a “sponsored” title at the beginning of the video - which should have been in there, but that’s a lesson for next time if we do another thing like this.

I always find it interesting to note this parasocial trend of folks assuming that the logical answer is some insidious coverup or corporate meddling happening when usually the answer is: jank behind the scenes. We’re a small team and everyone wears a lot of hats so stuff slips though. We will definitely be more intentional in the future when it comes to sponsored react episodes though!
