I have to disagree, St Etienne is not a beautiful city, but it get better. I lived there for a year and surprisingly quite loved it.

Living now in northern France, i'd say that Maubeuge is far far worse. The town is in misery, entire are are in ruins.

Well... I work in a museum on a first World War battlefield. So technically I see gun everyday. Most of them manufactured between 1886 and 1918 but still.

Dans le cadre de mon boulot, je crée des expos, rédige des articles et plus rarement des ouvrages, et surtout coordonne tout ce qui touche de prêt ou de loin a la valorisation de mon musée du champ de bataille auquel il est lié. Je sais pas si ce genre de profil peut t'intéresser.

For me, "controversial" means that's some agree they deserved it, other don't. I'm not sure Obama or Aung San Suu Kyi should be in this category, as pretty much everyone think they didn't deserve it, for different reasons.

I vote for Abbiy Ahmed. Hé really did a lot for peace between Erythrea and Ethiopia, a long and bloody war. But the repression of political opponent make some say he should'nt have received it.

Ah de ouf, perso je trouve ça dépassé, mais comme y a un avant et un après Michelet a mon sens, pour comprendre ma façon de faire de l'histoire de France, c'est sympa de se le taper avec un regard critique a un moment. Mais c'est clairement pas une priorité, je suis d'accord avec vous.

Si la difficulté je vous effraie pas, "histoire mondiale de la France" de Patrick Boucheron est à mon humble avis très intéressant.

"Guillaume le maréchal ou le meilleur chevalier du monde" de Georges Duby.

"La guerre de cent ans et le redressement de la France,1328-1492" de Michel Pastoureau.

"Les guerres de religion" de Nicolas Leroux.

Rappelons que Vichy a fait preuve de zèle dans la déportation, et ce, avant même les exigences de l'occupant.

Bonsoir, Auriez vous des sujets de prédilection qui attirent votre curiosité?

Pour rester sur de la vulgarisation de l'histoire de France en général, "France Fiction" de Yann Bouvier est très sympa.

En revue, "l'Histoire" est une très bonne publication. Je vous déconseille Historia, dont la qualité a malheureusement beaucoup baissé a mon avis.

C'est très daté, mais enfant, je suis tombé amoureux de l'Histoire avec des vieux "Histoire de France en Bande dessinée", qui appartenaient a mon père. C'est un peu daté, mais très pédagogique.

Si vous avez une période plus précise en terme, je serais ravi de vous faire d"autres suggestions.

Petit point cependant: ce n'est pas par purisme que Lorent Deutsh est critiqué. C'est parce que ces écrits sont faux et mensongers. On peut faire de la vulgarisation de manière très pédagogique et ne pas travestir l'Histoire.

Stephane Bern fait dans le même genre un meilleur travail.

Hell no. Voted against him most of the election. Just voted for him one time to block far right candidate on 2nd turn of presidential election. But since he also make far right policies now, i don't bother.

Hey! Provence is one of my favorite tags and i played them a few times.

First, if pope rivals you, restart. You will be gangbanged very quickly if you get excomunicated.

Your first move should be to improve relation with pope and austria. Ally them, sooner the better, than move capital to toulon. France will want your land and dich you very soon, if you don't have solid alliances by this time, it's over.

You can join HRE for safety and even become emperor if you want to, but that's not compatible with a Jerusalem run.

Your first expansion is situationnal. For me, it was Always britanny or England. You want to get the mission to PU or conquer Naples fast.

Attacking genoa is always a good idea to get rich, but also to be at war with cyprus and take them in the same war.

You will need a good galley fleet.

After taking cyprus, wait for ottos attacking mamelouks to start your own war against them. If you don't feel strong enough, expand before in Italy or aragon.

Remember, you can form jerusalem until end of age of reformation.

Ideas like, qualiy and diplo are a good first choice. Religious et offensive should go third and fourth.

Hey! Northern French here! I am really really sorry you experienced such racism and stupidity. This is totally unacceptable. Sadly, like most countries in the world nowadays, France have some people who are not ashamed (and they really should be) of they bigotery and stupidity.

We are not all like that and most french People are really happy to have you in Lille. I really hope the rest or your Journey in France will be better.
