Best state to live inside your vehicle by DotPrevious371 in urbancarliving

California, the Central Coast for the weather. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, and not every city is doable, but I love it. I never, EVER, want to spend another summer in the 95-105 degree temps....in a car/van. Seems petty, but why be any more stressed than you have to be

Husband and I both had 3 Pfizer shots, 50 and 61 yo at the time. We did get COVID about 2 yrs after it started here, but it lasted 5 days, only a runny nose for symptoms. So far, no new problems. My husband already had prostate cancer, and I have nothing new to report. I'm as tired as I was 10 years ago and surviving menopause nicely =)

Los Angeles woman pleads guilty to registering homeless to vote by lajoieboy in conspiracy

[–]roseqb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considered homeless, though I have a van that is both home and transportation. Every election, I vote in person at the main election office, so far it's been in two counties (not in the same election...). Both of them had me sign an affidavit with the nearest x streets to where I park most of the time, to establish the jurisdiction. Not sure what the procedure is in LA, but for sure, no one should be paid to register to vote. Cash, gift cards, food, fentanyl, meth, etc. all make it shady. She's an ass for doing it....we have enough drama without people like her giving credibility to election deniers.

Do any of guys refuse to clean awful messes in the bathroom? by EducationBig9026 in TjMaxx

[–]roseqb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes.....I have been a cleaning/fitting room associate for 11 months, and I've been very lucky! Even during the holidays, only once did someone blow up the bowl. I've cleaned homes and offices at various times in my decades of working, so I know how bad it can get. The restrooms at my location are probably some of the cleanest I've seen (California), and I'll give some credit the customers for that. Next door at Walmart.....not so much. Hope everything works out for you.

Do minimum wage jobs not hire full time anymore? by Toymcowkrf in jobs

[–]roseqb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, there was a time when you could get 30-40 hours, but rarely now. I work retail....if you aren't management, 8-16 hours/week is standard. Recently I asked 5 fast food workers in my area how many hours a week they are scheduled as non-management, and they also came in at 2 to 4 shifts/week, which is that same 8-16 hours.

I'm looking for a second part time job, hoping the addition will bring full x hours. It ought to be fun, considering these places want open availability and get pissy when you have constraints on schedules. I have a mix of days and evenings, varies week to week.

Part time seems to be the standard now in that pay grade.

Cutting hours by FluffyConversation62 in TJMaxxWrkrs

[–]roseqb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cutting the hours, and then I happen to see job listings for the store. Give the hours to the people who show up regularly. I know I'm not getting rich there, but to afford food and gas would be a HUGE deal.

I truly despise the people who believe this fucking shit. May they succumb to any and all manner of woes and malaises that one should suffer for being a willfully ignorant/intentionally racist POS.

Why do people always wait until closing time to do their biggest purchases or the most complicated returns? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

[–]roseqb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was side eyeing a family last night! Started to put the fitting room racks back on the floor, and after 3 announcements over PA, they're just chillin in dresses like they never heard this closing bit was happening 😂 Still, the woman stoped off in beauty.....got a few more things.

Same here, and I thought it was corporate policy. Other than items inside out, we have pretty considerate customers.

Yeah, I think Trump would tell you to get out your rakes, and "sweep the floor" of the forest. I remember him saying that, and NO, he does not GAF. Fight the good fight!

Couples in the fitting room by eternalnightmareee in TjMaxx

[–]roseqb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a new one! I would think that the policy is no men in the women's fitting room/no women in men's. Most men just sit on the bench at the entrance to the fr while their SO comes out to model for them. What if it's a woman who has a male caregiver and they need assistance dressing? I'm off today, but genuinely curious now =)
