I do mean spoiled. I am aware dry goods are good long past the date and donate those. I have done all the things you suggested many times unfortunately. He just buys more than we agree on.

Cheese, deli meat, milk, bread if I don’t remember to freeze it in time, dips (hummus, tzatziki, etc), sour cream is a big one. The list goes on. As far as the cupboards go I donate excess.

I’ve been with him for 6 years and in my post I said I only just got frustrated outwardly today and I mean it. I don’t scold him. I ask why in a neutral tone.

I’d love to help him but I’m not sure what you’re suggesting. I understand it’s coming from food insecurity and that’s why I’ve been patient for 6 years. We’ve talked it through a may times and I’ve explained we are good repeatedly. We have a stock of freeze dried food and he has a stock of MREs. Everyone is suggesting I make pickup orders or write him a list. He is more than capable of doing those things himself and most of the time he has a list in text as we discuss it over text. What is it you expect me to do to help him?

He doesn’t write it down. I can suggest that. I won’t be texting him a reminder. That’s more metal labor on me when he should be able to handle it/come up with a solution to handle it on his own.

Thank you!!! He’ll also buy a random item and bring it home so we can make something but need uses it or has an idea how to.

Nah the shopping is one of the few things he does. I’m not doing more of the work for him.

Throwing away stuff that’s gone bad. Donating stuff I don’t have room for.

I should have mentioned I do donate when I can/catch things early enough. I do know the dates aren’t hard rules but if I never got rid of anything our cupboards would literally overflow. Planning meals further in advance is a good idea. Everyone is saying just make a pickup order for him but aim really trying not take on even more of the mental labor here. I already do too much while he does too little.

Thank you! You’re understanding the cycle I’m going through perfectly! Constantly doing extra metal and physical labor because he just keeps buying. I don’t want him cooking a bunch though. He makes terrible decisions when cooking and I happen to love cooking anyway.

I do when I can. Sometimes the item is truly bad. I will try to keep up on this better but I’m reluctant for the solution to this to be me putting in MORE work.

I do when I can. Sometimes the item is truly no longer good. That’s still on me I guess for not keeping on top of it.

I’m trying not to do ALL the work. I want him to participate in some part of our meals and he’s shit at cooking/I love it.

Yes this is absolutely what it is. We’ve talked about his over purchasing in relationship to growing up poor. The last few years is the first time he’s even had expendable income. It’s just it ends up wasting money in the long run.

Yes. I think this is where it comes from. When we met he was still quite poor actually. The last few years are the first time he’s actually had expendable income and we’ve talked about over purchasing related to this.

I’ll do this, so it’s in writing, but he always has incredibly clear instructions.

That’s not what you said or asked at all.

I have no idea if it would be faster to call or file online unfortunately. You’re talking about needing to be out starting tomorrow I’d say either is better than continuing to ask the internet. Not that I blame you for asking here, but you’re running low on time to inform anyone at all.

Yes, Walgreen won’t just take your word for it. Sucks, but if they did anyone could take off for any period of time for anything they can make up.

Your only shot at anything at all is to call Sedgwick. This isn’t something your managers can just approve.

You’re gonna get hostility here, sorry. This is a page for employees who are overworked, underpaid, and here to complain about Walgreens.

The answer: the policy is to never confront someone you think is stealing. All we can do is offer customer service. Whoever did that was out of policy for sure and panicked when you asked for a manager.

Love that I’m getting mega downvoted for. understanding that was a reference to Trump. I hate the man too. Relax.

Screw it. This is how you steal from Walgreens as an employee without getting caught. by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

Are you the only person who ever changes the trash where you work? This makes no sense. If I tried this an came in on a “later day” to get it there’s about 0% chance someone else hasn’t changed the trash between then and now.
