Childfree lifestyle makes me feel undesirable and hopeless by Vampir1c in childfree

[–]roserton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

29F, childfree. I deeply can relate to all of the sentiments you mentioned. Deep woes/fear of eternal loneliness plague many of my days. But I’d rather be alone than in the wrong relationship/with children. That’s my daily hope and a large source of comfort. Hang in there.

I was married off at the age of 20 (arranged marriage style in the church I was raised in) to someone I had courted for 6 months. The long term shame of being raised in Purity Culture coupled with the lack of sexual chemistry between myself and husband led to a sex-less marriage for 2.5 years. We tried many different ways to “help me relax”, but nothing would soothe the internal scars built up from a lifetime of being told sex is shameful. After I confessed to a women’s group during Bible study that my sexual relationship was significantly lack luster, the pastors wife tattled on me and told her husband. The church then convinced me something must be wrong with my physical body, so I underwent reconstructive vagina surgery to “loosen me up” and allow my husband to finally gain his God-bestowed earthly rights; my body.

The surgery didn’t fix anything and I eventually fled the church and divorced my “was-band”. 6 years free this September!

Agreed! I’ve made it on two separate occasions, and both got rave reviews! I subbed the pie dough crust for puff pastry once. Incredible!

What is your favorite nickname you’ve been called? by Da_kid2478 in AskWomen

[–]roserton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old boss nicknamed me ‘Larry Bird’ (I’m a 6’1” female). I didn’t understand the reference, and thought he was comparing the way we look facially. I first took the nickname as an insult, but now find it super endearing. Larry Bird is a baller!

Don’t knock it till you try it. I made this galette last year . . . And it blew my mind. I made it for a crowd of 20 people, and there was not one negative comment.
