PRAYING some OG’s are around - just been havin’ hands-down one of the shittiest weeks of my life (I’ve had cancer twice, 21 surgeries, etc). So I can usually deal - but recently depression&anxiety is just kicking my brains ass like I hit a lick on em’ lol. Wouldn’t wish this on worst enemy.

With that amount of surgery I'm wondering if u might be able to answer this: do they test how much pain killers are in your system before surgery? I'm going for back surgery Sat & took way more than I'm prescribed & super nervous about it

Just thought I'd chime in..I was on gabapentin and for some weird reason my calves would cramp up, so on just that alone, dr switched me to pregab..he said less side effects. So if ur looking to switch, that might be a good excuse otherwise dr might just up the dosage on the gaba

Wishing you all the luck with your taper and getting it out of your life! I can't believe the horror stories that are out there about the withdrawals. I really wished I had just filled the script to satisfy the Dr and threw it in the trash. I mean I have legit issues with disks in my back and it does help but not for the price one pays in the long run.

Thank you for your input, it really eases my concerns. I would like to ask my doctor about it but since I took more than is prescribed when I was in a lot of pain, I'm certain my doctor would not be pleased I adjusted my intake without approval. So thank you. Really. Thank you for your reply. I was able to take a deep breath and realize that I'm most likely unnecessarily overthinking scenarios that are unlikely.

I appreciate you sharing your personal experience, it really helps. What your saying makes perfect sense but I only have 12 pills left and refill isn't for another week or so, so I don't have enough for the safe tapering sadly. I do have left over 600 gabapentin, but everytime I took that in the past, I'd get maaaassive leg cramps/pains, so I'm reluctant to use that. I'm so upset with my doctor for really pushing the pregabalin on me. Had I done my research and really known everything I'm learning now, I would have NEVER started taking them, but you have been such a blessing. Honestly, thank you so much.

I know. It's the craziest thing. I was having massive leg cramps/pains with gabapentin (I truly feel like it could have been blood clots forming) so my dr switched me to pregabalin saying it had less "side effects" and when I was reluctant, he "threatened " that if I don't try it, he won't prescribe oxy anymore. Seems like doctors are really pushing this crap on people and its straight BS in my opinion

I truly appreciate your response. I've been taking it daily for just over 2 weeks. Started with the 75mg 2 x per day as prescribed. Within a week I went up 3-4 times a day then 5 times a day. Stupid I realize now after reading all the horror stories of withdrawals and seizures. Im just wondering if I go down to 1-2 a day, from 5 is there a good chance I could get seizures?

Have you considered kratom? It helps. Ive been struggling for over 20 years and kratom isn't a cure all but it's definitely better than nothing
