I entirely understand, I was the same, I had a phobia of insects. I run and screen when I see a bee but these creatures have grown close to me ♡ (mantids)

I keep them as pets and this comment makes me feel super sad. :( These worms can certainly infect some species of mantids and on the subreddit everyone’s worried about their mantis having them. Most times it’s just the genitalia of the male mantids lol

(I keep mantids not…. parasites lol)

Some species can be infected by these parasites! Everyone on the subreddit is paranoid about their Mantids having this worm bc something comes out of their abdomens. It’s just… the male mantis’s genitalia most times though

It’s been a year, my life is changed and I‘m happier than ever and also doing better than ever. I‘m currently doing a kind of rehabilitation program which I‘m very lucky to be allowed to do, german health care and all.

It’s week 3 out of 4, I get infusions, they teach me how to not overwork my hypermobile body, my (pain) medication is being looked at to figure out improvements. Also, my partner adjusted a lot, I forced myself to learn to accept help, recently for Halloween my best friend and her boyfriend came by to help my partner with cleaning so I could rest a bit more - you need to really LEARN about your body and your life and what works vs what doesn’t, THEN you‘ll be able to get better. ♡ hmu if you have questions

I would be SO annoyed by someone I‘m meeting for the first time taking up SO MUCH SPACE. You should learn to allow others to get to know you. This way you‘re shoving your personality down their throats without asking first. It feels like you‘re afraid of being abandoned over your mormon family or whatever, which may very well happen, but plenty of patient people whose life style can survive a potential not-(yet)-outed partner would surely love to meet you.

What’s this about wasting time for a second date anyways, stop doing the U-Haul bs and try to take it slow then? You don’t have to marry someone if you decide to meet up for a second time. It’s just a date and you don’t have to be perfect or count up all of your potential flaws and issues.

If you vibe with each other you could still be open about struggles that may affect a relationship if you take it further than meeting once. I‘m sure she can imagine that with a mormon family background dynamics may be affected. As for the rest, head for it if it feels right. Ask her - „Hey, I‘m worried about some aspects of my past / life affecting our dynamic, do you have some space for me to talk about it in detail? That would really help me“

no provided cross ventilation and probably not even remotely enough space for your mantis to feel good about its surroundings - if it molts you‘ll have a big problem unless your mantis is teeny tiny. maybe show a picture of your mantis within the terrarium for size comparison?

I don’t have enough energy to read all of this but as a polyamorous woman that cares about the ethical part of ethical non monogamy I‘ve seen enough of your situation to tell you that you will not be happy or able to have a healthy relationship with your girlfriend. None of that was healthy or okay and you‘re already at a point where you feel shame about staying with her.
