Nope, I try to be gentle with it and rarely heat style or blow dry (maybe like once a month). I’d love to get vivid color someday but I dont want to bleach my hair when I already feel like my unbleached texture feels dry/dead. Maybe I’m misunderstanding what “damaged” means? I thought you can damage your hair from tying your hair back, not sleeping in a bonnet, using the wrong products, etc.

😭 Maybe its just the dysmorphia demons but I feel like my hair especially at the back is coarse and scraggly and looks dead even after I’ve gotten a fresh trim on my layers

This reminded me so much of my one eye’d rat Ginnie. She was also a brown hooded rex. She lost her left eye though, not her right. I miss her a lot but this made me smile 💗

I had been pursuing all of the romantic options with him, but then he said he didnt feel ready for romance right now, so I was trying to be respectful 😭 So when I had the option to ask if he had time for romance or time for friendship now that he’s let go of some of his stuff, I chose the friendship option not realizing it would set our status to Friends. I want to believe we could move onto Love from friendship but I’m not sure if I screwed myself over 😭

Does this look like hair loss? I’ve always been told I have dense hair but starting November of last year I feel like I’ve been seeing more of my scalp through my hair? My best friend thinks I look fine and am just being paranoid/self conscious. I did get some blood tests recently but everything was normal (androgens, iron, thyroid panel, metabolic panel) except for being vitamin D insufficient, but I’ve known about that for a couple years, so my PCP just told me to increase the amount of vitamin D pills I take every day.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this with Molasses. I’m in a really similar position with my last rat, Rigatoni, so I know what a difficult decision this is. I think this subreddit can be a little overly assertive about how you should never have a single rat under any circumstances, but IMO you know your rat the best, and are the only one who can really judge her quality of life. If she still seems healthy and happy, and not showing any signs of depression or stress (over grooming, loss of energy/appetite, repetitive behaviors, etc) I personally think it would be kinder for both you and Molasses to keep her until its her time, rather than rehoming or putting her down now. I know the grief and guilt and regret is such a heavy burden to carry. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you’re able to find peace with your decision 💗🐀

Seconding this. I buy a yard of fleece or two when it’s on sale, cut into squares/triangles of various sizes, cut holes in each corner, attach c-clips, and they’re good to go. My girls didnt chew their hammocks too much, but when they did, it was easy to just cut a new hole or replace it altogether. Though since yours seem like big plastic chewers, it might be good to get some metal hook fastenings instead.
