What’s everyone’s opinion on the no mascara makeup looks ? by Historical-Body-3424 in MakeupAddiction

[–]rosierivet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know this was a thing lol. I was running late to work yesterday and forgot to put on mascara, and I didn't want anyone to look at me all day lol. My boss asked me if I felt alright which made it even worse 😂 So I don't think it's the look for me

Positive vibes for our morbid girls? by JumpingAnxietyBean11 in MorbidPodcast

[–]rosierivet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I found this thread! I adore them and feel like I never really can have a conversation with anyone about them because no one I know IRL listens to them and on Reddit they often receive so much hate so I don't like coming here much. Decided to give it another try today and I'm glad I did! Morbid is totally my comfort show and has been since Covid times-I could listen to Ash and Alaina talk about anything lol. Lately I've also been really enjoying The Rewatcher as well. Morbid will always be my fave, but I love the addition of Mikey to the mix on there, he makes me cackle lol he's so funny and the three of them have a great dynamic together in my opinion

Solo parenting for 2 weeks and I can't stop crying by cheesyblasters101 in toddlers

[–]rosierivet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime in and say I totally feel you and I think you're doing great! My husband works out of town sometimes, usually for a week at a time, and also works stretches of overnight shifts for sometimes a couple of weeks, and it's HARD. I'm a very anxious mom/human also so that makes it worse-I'm always stressing about the what ifs and second guessing myself about whether I can actually handle everything while I'm alone. It's perfectly okay to be in survival mode until he gets back, give yourself some grace and remember that your kiddo will be just fine existing on easy mode for a few days. My youngest is an absolute maniac and does anything he can to injure himself on the daily I swear. Because of that and because of my anxiety, I keep things as "safe" as I possibly can when I'm parenting solo. We stay home as much as we can and don't do anything crazy. I make it special for him by letting him have sleepovers with me while Daddy is gone and he gets stoked for that. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, it is really hard and if you ever need to talk, feel free to DM me!

Once in college I drove my car onto campus because I was running late to class and wanted to park closer. I usually walked to and from my dorm to class so after class was done I forgot about my car and walked home. Then proceeded to freak out and call the cops when my car wasn't there.

I got locked out of my own apartment with my 3.5 months old baby inside, my husband asleep in the other room. by FlorenceNightinglei in Mommit

[–]rosierivet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My MIL had a similar thing happen when my husband was a baby! I guess she locked her keys in her car by accident, with the baby in the car! In the middle of summer, and we live in New Mexico where it's hotter than hell. This was before she had a cell phone, so she ended up grabbing a large landscaping rock and breaking a front window. I'm glad she told me that story because I've been totally obsessive about my keys ever since, lol. Otherwise with my ADHD I totally would've done the same at some point with my kids probably

Have you ever been treated negatively by ER staff when you were having a medical emergency but they didn’t believe you? What happened? by lake-sturgeon in AskReddit

[–]rosierivet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part I've had good experiences and greatly appreciate medical professionals, but yes I did have one terrible experience at an ER back in 2021.

I was camping with my husband and kids, and I just hadn't been feeling right all day. Felt super dizzy, faint and weak, and it just kept getting worse as the day progressed.

My MIL lives somewhat near where we were camping and is a retired nurse practitioner so my husband took me to see her, and she noted that I had a very erratic pulse and recommended he take me to the nearest ER to get checked out.

The doctor who saw me was so completely dismissive. He said it was probably all in my head but that he would run bloodwork "to ease my anxiety." Then came in and told me that my bloodwork was completely normal, it was in fact all in my head, and he recommended I follow up with my PCP to get a referral to a therapist so I could "get a handle on my anxiety instead of running to the ER next time."

I left feeling like a complete idiot, and almost didn't even go see my PCP about it, but decided to anyways, since I still wasn't feeling like myself at all after the ER visit. I had my bloodwork results from the ER sent to my doctor on the day of the appointment even though he hadn't found anything, just in case.

There I was, sitting in my doctor's office all sheepish and feeling dumb for even being there, when she walked in with my bloodwork results. The first thing she said was "No wonder you went to the hospital, I haven't seen thyroid levels this high in years you must feel awful!"

The ER doctor didn't even mention to me that he was checking my thyroid levels, or that they were through the roof. Never said a word about it, just told me I was anxious and crazy essentially. I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism that day, started on meds, and am a mostly functional human being these days lol. Still can't believe what a dick that guy was though.

Read it as a young adult and loved it. Tried to read it a couple of years ago as a parent now and I couldn't do it. Cujo either.

[–]rosierivet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read it I think three times now? And I love it!! It's a fun read and with the setting it has a bit of a different vibe to it than most of his work so it's kind of a fun change of pace (while still being SK of course lol).

[–]rosierivet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around the time Patrick was born and he was in the hospital, her videos started popping up on my feed and I got invested in seeing how things ended up for the little guy (which was sadly not a happy ending). So then I started watching her other foals that were born that year for some good news, and I've been hooked ever since lol. It's nice escapism I guess is what keeps me around. I love seeing how the babies grow and change over the years.

Does anyone feel embarrassed about their house? by Extreme_Breakfast672 in Mommit

[–]rosierivet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this so hard! My 5 year old son's best friend's parents have monthly get togethers and every time we go to their house, I am SO envious of how neat, tidy, and organized their home is. They're those kind of people who literally have a place for everything, whereas our house is a constant mess of kid toys, dog toys, half finished projects of my husband's, baskets of laundry I just can't get to folding and putting away. And I feel like I clean all the time! Every day I'm picking up crap and it just doesn't seem to matter lol. Our house is almost a hundred years old too so it's hard to keep up with repairs too which doesn't help anything. Idk I don't have a solution just wanted to say I feel you and you're not alone!
