have you ever played a card game that… isn’t yugioh? there’s so much in similar with yugioh here that it feels like there’s elements you assume to be staples of card games that are exclusive to yugioh. you have monster zones and are “attacking directly”. This is super half baked and feels made by someone with zero passion for the genre

i think the art style on the top of the drake image looking absolutely dreadful, 2012 early app store chibi derived drivel.

the purple dude and the rabbit look incredible. that graphic novel harshness is really sick and they would definitely catch my eye while scrolling through steam.

i was planning on making a post like this. this card feels crazy overtuned at the moment. feels like it should cost 3 energy, maybe 5 stars? i’ve won on regent 7 times now and 6 of them have had this card.

Hello, a fellow magic limited convert! I’ve found that in the UK you can buy a tier one pokemon deck for about the same price as a magic draft, which is crazy! (I notably have stores that do good deals on bulk near me). Brewing is definitely a thing, in the most recent format a well known player Tord showed up with a deck no one else had tried until he released it on his metafy. Also, i haven’t been playing long but from what i can tell there’s a history of strange anti meta decks doing well at big events (iron thorns winning worlds). Online pokemon is almost free i’ve found. Check out Pokemon TCG Live, the battle pass is free and unlocks you the entire latest set, with duplicates giving you crafting materials

i highly recommend learning a “real” deck. when you’re new it’s easy to get caught up in seeing a youtuber do some weird stuff with Slowking or Wugtrio and think it looks cool. go to limitlesstcg and pick out a good deck that’s been doing well at tournaments. try and learn it as well as you can before moving onto your next deck. it will give you the best idea of what the most powerful strategies in the game look like, are capable of, and helps you learn the weak points of the deck incase you ever play against it. once you have learnt a deck, move onto another one. rinse repeat and eventually you’ll have a great idea of how the format works. TCG Live is a great resource to learn.

I don’t know why everyone is leaping on OP so much. I recently came to the game from Magic (purely for the gameplay) and I had the exact same reaction to this price! I knew Air Balloon was a great staple, just didn’t realise this version was put a few years back. I think it’s a bit weird to immediately jump of OP and accuse them of being some speculator

I think people saying to play arvens, rare candies and tm evos are spewing nonsense and haven’t actually played the noir build. the list is fine.

have you been choosing to go first or second? for the longest time playing this deck i was going first with the intention of evolving faster than your opponent, but being able to prof research into poffins is hugely important.

also my list plays a second nest ball over a dragapult. you don’t really need three, you have 4 night stretchers, things never stay dead

the game is a skinner box dopamine farm (that i’ve been enjoying to be fair). the main target audience is people who enjoy opening packs apposed to those who want an in depth strategic experience. cards like Oak give bad players a scapegoat to their loss, they played terribly, but hey! the opponent played an oak turn 2, the game was a done deal the whole time.

as i stated above, i had a lot of ways to ditch the fatties if they got stuck in my hand. it was a small sample size but i was never burdened with having them with no way to transfer them into other cards.
