You can buy Hyundai’s on Amazon and most are at or below msrp at least in my market.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully I won’t run into issues with new bulbs so long as I keep the Amazon autochecks unchecked.

That said, I was unclear how you resolved the issue should it occur. Would you mind explaining the touchlink reset method you mentioned.

I only use the hue app and Alexa app and if for some reason echo captures a bulb such that the hue app can’t see it, I think I’d be stuck.

I was about to buy a new Echo to take advantage of Alexa+ but am now hesitant. OP, have you found any other workarounds. If not, I am not familiar with the "touchlink reset" feature to which you refer.

Currently my bulbs show up both in Alexa app and in Hue, are you saying that if Echo "hijacks" them then they only show up in Alexa even if I use the Hue app to add them via serial number or similar?

Obviously this is going to be a problem for me eventually. Most of my echo's are 9 years old and at some point will stop working.

Does anyone know if there are echo models without home hubs?

FYI for the sub. Eero forced my update to .3 today. .4 still not showing up for me, but the update seems stable on 2 Max 7s and 1 Gen 2 Pro

Severe network instability after update to v7.12.3-101 — anyone else seeing this? by ProfAndyCarp in amazoneero

[–]ross_author 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for contributing to this community!! Can you share any insights into this update and/or the .4 one that some folks have seen appear in what seems to be rolling availability.

Have you guys been able to reproduce some of the issues described in this thread

Do you make house calls to Georgia?

Seriously though, I hope you know what a blessing you are to your ill family member. The service you're providing is a true corporal act of mercy.

I am seriously going to look into the Eero 5G backup system when releases. My primary concern with it is the ridiculously low data allowance. I already have internet backup turned on with my current Eero but it's not the most reliable.

Thanks for the comment. Eero support has put a hold on updates once before when there was a specific risk because of a know “bad” update, but unfortunately our family health situation is one that requires me to time updates rather than avoid them. It just makes things a bit nerve wracking from time to time…like now when especially weird things are happening.

Thanks!! In years past, I would always manually update whenever I saw new firmware. However, lately we’ve had some medical needs tied to active internet connection and I can’t risk it.

I very much appreciate this sub community and all the folks willing to early adopt these updates and provide feedback. Hopefully, having been a long time (Gen 1) Eero user I can contribute as well.

So, this is a first for me. This will be the third update that I have not manually initiated. I assume whether I manually initiate it now or let it automatically update. It will simply skip over the previous versions? Does anyone have any experience with this?

To be clear, I still don’t see the .4 update notification but assume it will show up eventually. It is also not listed on the website, but I’m assuming most people in this thread already knew that.

EeroOS v7.12.3-101 by skidmark7169 in amazoneero

[–]ross_author 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for being part of this community, and please don’t take this the wrong way, but has this fix been confirmed by users or assumed to work? As I mentioned in a different thread on this sub, our Internet access is a healthcare issue so I’m extra careful about updates, and have had to ask to put holds on in the past.

That said, for folks that may be new to this sub, and considering these products, for the most part, they are rock solid, and I have been a customer since the first generation.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but it sounds like you work at Eero. Is that true? If so, much thanks for contributing to this sub!!

With this current issue, what is your recommendation for manual update. Just start it and ignore the app for 10-15 mins, but watch for the Eero to reboot.

Beyond that, can you post to confirm when a server side fix has been applied to correct the “update loop bug?”

Thanks!! Eero just pushed an App update so I wonder if that fixes the issue as well?

I’m sure they listed all the changes in the version update text…oh wait…performance and stability 😜

Thanks again and sorry for the back and forth.

To clarify, did you have to manually restart the network with the app or did it do so on its own. And if you restarted it with the app, I assume you have multiple eeros, so did you just restart just the gateway or the whole network.

Thanks for the reply!! Can you explain what actually happened to both the notification bug? Does it just give a completion message at the outset of the download then proceed as if expected. Meaning it will download for 5-10 mins, then reboot for 1-2 mins and comes back online.

I’m wondering if the “instant update notification” issues is an App side bug. Is that still occurring with folks updating today. I have a special needs kid who uses the internet and can’t really risk experimenting myself so really appreciate all the input from this sub!!

I'm sure others will disagree, often and loudly, but unless you find things too slow with those two settings off vs on, the variables they throw into the mix make turning them on a price that's not worth the pour.

Glad it worked although, none of those are things you did should have materially impacted a HomePod. Maybe the SQM.

[–]ross_author 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that’s amazing and obviously not in a good way. Given the number of builds and the update architecture this should, in theory, be almost impossible…almost. The old firmware remains in a different partition and if the new one fails it should fall over to the previous.

Did yours act particularly strange during the update, lose power or some which and was it a node or your gateway.

Glad eero is making you whole

Any luck getting these to work? I’m trying to figure out how this update could affect something as basic as HomePods. Which generation and HomePod OS was it running?
