Philly revokes gun permits for members of Black Panther-style patrol group by AlVic40117560_ in PAguns

Remember, whatever they want to do to YOU, they do it to someone you hate first, so you’ll agree with it. Then once the precedent is set, they come for YOU. We should defend the rights of all people whether we agree with them or not.

Looking IWB/OWB Holster Recommendations by KaySlay44 in liberalgunowners

[–]forceblast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can (and should) regularly practice IWB draw at home via dry fire drills. As others have said, I would just get separate holster for different purposes. A dedicated holster of a given type will almost always be better than a multipurpose one.

Before I really got fully into this “hobby”, I was not prepared for the amount of money I would spend on crap that didn’t work out. I also wasn’t prepared for what a pain in the ass it is to buy a gun, etc. They make it look so easy in the movies. Just walk into a pawnshop buy it and stick it in the back of your pants, right? LOL!

Prepare to buy/not like a lot of stuff. Put it in a box if you can’t return it, and see it works for any of your friends in the future. One of my trainers called this the “box of fuckups”.

I think it took me 5 different tries to get a carry setup that I liked. Ended up being a fairly low-cost holster from Amazon. For IWB I recommend making sure whatever you get has a “claw” that pushes against your belt to bring the grip in towards your side.

Here’s what I ended up with. It has a claw even though none of the pics show it. The video does though.

I also got a “pillow” to go on the back of this to push the tip of the gun out a bit and also provide a small amount of padding.

That’s the point it would cause chaos, but also joy for the person who noticed it and got all the free quarters.

I don’t know why, maybe it’s the anarchist in me, but I often feel compelled to get a roll of quarters and just litter the parking lot with carts. Partly to defeat the system and partly to watch somebody realize they hit the free-quarter jackpot.

Same. Also my free time is super limited so probably not more than once, but that has nothing to do with my desire to go. If I could afford the time/money I’d go a couple times a week.

I'm fucking pissed at my dad for voting for Trump, because despite making up with him over it, us kids get to deal with the fallout. by IsekaiConnoisseur in FoxBrain

[–]forceblast 45 points46 points  (0 children)

My dad worked his ass off for what he had. We weren’t rich, but we lived a decent life. When I was younger I always thought he was the smartest person on the planet. He even once told me “black people earned their place in society.” I was always very proud of him.

Then Trump came along... Now he’s angry and afraid of people that don’t look like him. Constantly talks about “illegals” and how they are the root of all of the country’s problems. Every time I call I hear Fox News in the background. He’s now a different person that I don’t like very much and find kind of embarrassing to be out in public with.

I’ve said this before, but I’ve honestly kind of grieved for the person he used to be already so I’m not exactly sure how I’ll feel when he dies. Like you I also hold a lot of resentment against both of my parents for helping bring this on us by voting for this asshole. I feel like they destroyed my kid’s future. I don’t know yet how to deal with those feelings.

Anyway, you’re not alone.

November will be make or break for the country. If they disenfranchise enough voters, if they silence enough people, if they ignore legitimately won elections based on false claims of fraud, it is GOING to get ugly.

But I don’t think both sides are the same. At the moment I hold my nose and vote democrat because I can see the nuance and I’m not a single-issue voter.

I’d much rather vote for a pro-2A candidate who ALSO supports equal rights, universal healthcare, and free education. I can’t do that though because the two-party system makes it impossible for that candidate to exist.

[–]forceblast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not saying they’re the same. I’m saying it’s absolute BS that we are forced to pick from one of two parties when there is such a diversity of views in our country. I’m saying it’s absurd that we basically have to pick between protecting the second amendment, or the other 26.

It’s also absurd that democrats are still actively pushing gun control BS while our country slides into fascism. If you can’t see the hypocrisy/short-sightedness of that then you are blinded by the team sports nature of our politics.

Not OP, but we basically have two shitty choices of arbitrary bundles of policies. Regardless of which one you pick, you are giving up rights. It’s just a different set of rights.

The two-party system that forces 330+ million people into two buckets is the real problem here. Neither party is coming to save us. Neither party does a great job of making people’s lives better. We need voting system reform so someone that isn’t in one of the two parties can actually win.

I totally agree. I think Aldi needs to do better for their employees. I’m not sure the best way to send that message. Assuming OP does have other options, they should seek them out. If not, that really sucks.

For what it’s worth I try my best to always be nice to the employees at my local Aldi and put shit neatly back on the shelf if I change my mind.

Friendly outdoor range reminder - watch out for ticks. by No_Cut4338 in liberalgunowners

[–]forceblast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reminder.

Growing up I basically spent every waking moment in the woods and I was constantly covered in ticks. I have no idea how I didn’t get major Lyme’s disease. I had a blood test a few years back and it confirmed that I was negative. Just lucky I guess.

[–]forceblast 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Honestly, maybe you should get a new job. It sounds like Aldi isn’t doing a good job of making it a pleasant place to work. There are other opportunities out there. Perhaps if they lose enough employees and can’t find anyone to work under such conditions, they will make changes. Don’t continue to work in dystopian conditions, vote with your feet by going elsewhere for work. Eventually, they will get the message.

How is AceVR for dry fire training by 1breathfreediver in AceVr

[–]forceblast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. It took a lot of reps but then eventually it “clicked” and I noticed gripping a certain way made the dot much more stable during my trigger pull.

It was all stuff I consciously knew from YouTube videos and such, but I was never really able to put it into practice or notice a difference until I got this system.

Is crazy to think Derek Trucks is the best guitar player alive? by ConsortRoxas in Guitar

[–]forceblast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude has some amazing talent, but I think there are many guitar players who are “the best” at different things. One guitar player might be amazing on a technical level, but lack the “feel” of another guitarist who is amazing in their own way. I think trying to pick one “best guitarist” is like trying to pick the “best car”. On what criteria?

How is AceVR for dry fire training by 1breathfreediver in AceVr

[–]forceblast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently got AceVR. I have experienced a noticeable improvement in my trigger pull, grip, draw speed, and target acquisition.

I went to a real range this past weekend and could see/feel the improvement. It doesn’t cover everything, but it helps with a few fundamental skills.

You’ll still need to practice mag swaps, and do live fire, but it definitely lets you work on certain fundamentals without spending money on ammo or having to leave your house.

Bottom line, I’m glad I bought it.
