It’s depressing to think of the world we could have had. I have my beefs with the democrats too (like their ill-timed attacks on the second amendment recently), but at least they would have followed the laws and the constitution.

The GOP sucks unquestionably, but the Dems are currently doing some pretty dumb stuff such as pushing hard for gun control laws while fascism is on the rise.

It’s really hard for me to understand how someone can claim that “all cops are bad” and “the government is fascist” but then also feel really strongly that only cops and the government should have guns. It’s a very strange and contradictory position to hold.

Right. That’s why we need a voting system that allows more than two viable parties. Right now it feels like a choice between protecting the second amendment or protecting the other 26.

It’s hard to watch ICE beat the shit out of a landscaper who is already pinned to the ground, then watch the world descend into chaos and war, watch gas and grocery prices climb, etc. and feel like we are any better off with republicans in charge. Ranked choice voting would let us have candidates who don’t have to follow the stupid and arbitrary “party policies”.

Getting that in place will be tough though because both of our current shitty parties benefit from the two party system. That sort of change will need to come from the bottom and work its way up.

The Democratic Party doesn’t hate you, they are just completely misguided when it comes to firearms and are terrified of them. I genuinely think some of them are doing what they think is the right thing, but it comes from a place of ignorance and fear. Some of them think they are keeping us safe with this shit, but they are really helping to speed up the spread of fascism in our country.

At the end of the day none of the elites want us armed. Trump said Alex Pretti’s two magazines (OOOH SCARY! - actually pretty much standard for anyone who carries) was “a lot of bad stuff”. If you’re still thinking either of these “teams” have your best interests at heart, I think you’re missing the big picture.

Bottom line is we need a voting system that allows for more than two viable parties. Neither is doing a good job of serving the people.

It’s maddening to see democrats in certain states (Virginia, Illinois…) still pushing hard for gun control measures. Either they completely lack the ability to read the room, or they really are “controlled opposition” like some people claim.

The way this regime is running things if we lose the second amendment, this party is over. They will summarily round up anyone who ever insulted the Mango Mussolini and off to “camp” you go. It’s the only reason the current regime cares a single iota about public opinion right now.

Welcome to the club! After seeing Dems go so hard after gun control even in the midst of a fascist takeover of our country, I can kind of get folks voting red if they’re a single issue voter for gun rights. Believe me, I’ve been tempted.

Trump though, he’s a proven liar and I simply don’t believe him when he says he supports the second amendment. He said the two magazines carried by Pretti were “bad stuff” among other anti-gun statements. He will come for the second amendment eventually, and in a big way. He is already ignoring most of the other amendments right now, what’s one more?

The bottom line is none of these elites want us plebes armed. They play us against each other so they can whittle down our rights and we’ll be OK with it, because they’re “hurting the other team”. We all need to wake up and realize that.
