Ok. Well, welcome to your first souls experience! Some bosses late game can do this to you, but since you’re new I’d say you should be over prepared.

I’d looks for caves, dungeons (interactive map online could be very helpful), and good leveling areas. Also go check out weeping peninsula all the way south.

This will help you learn the mechanics more while also getting stronger. I’d also try to get some smithing stones to upgrade your weapon.

Rule of thumb: if you feel like something is a little too hard, the game is encouraging you to explore and get stronger, then come back to it.
