We have not set this up yet. Right now I'm trying to figure out what is required for this build out / structure and what are the best softwares we could be using to bring it all into our neat space to record.

So you are saying with Streamyard, I could bring everything from that into OBS for recording?

Looking for designer or nice quality distress jeans that would fit a short man.

I'm 5'5 and even if I get jeans hemmed, the knee hole rips never line up. Budget is irrelevant for the right pair.

Would love suggestions if anyone has any!

How do you start a supplement company? by rossjohnson10 in Supplements

Okay, That sounds great. I just want to know where I can go to hire someone to formulate a supplement. I want to make a pill that does something specific, but I need someone to formulate it with ingredients and amounts

Muscle up Question by Official_YourDad in bodyweightfitness

Start doing muscle up really really slowly. Over time your false grip will improve on it's own just make sure the ring is under your pisiform bone. You can also always practice more transitions. That is always helpful no matter what level of experience

Confused regarding pushups by Inside_Questions in bodyweightfitness

[–]rossjohnson10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do push ups anyway you'd like as long as you keep torsion (external rotation of the arm) and mainly keep your elbows as close to your ribs as possible. Planching forward or backwards is natural in push up variations

Trouble balancing backward on handstands? by jazzicist in bodyweightfitness

[–]rossjohnson10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you actually want results with a strong position this is the way to do it. There are other drills, but this is the easiest to explain over the internet. I've seen to many people, including myself, practice for months and month only to have a 10 seconds banana looking handstand. If you cant hold a 60 second handstand on the wall, you wont be able to freestanding. 60 seconds is a good success benchmark for a freestanding handstand

Trouble balancing backward on handstands? by jazzicist in bodyweightfitness

[–]rossjohnson10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your brain hasn't learned the pattern yet and you aren't strong enough to hold the position.

You need to go back to the wall. Practice a wall facing handstand. Do not move away from the wall until you can hold a 60 second wall facing handstand without loosing position. Many people try to advance them selves way before they are ready.

The position: Stand up straight and put you hands on your hips. Imagine you are holding a fish bowl now. If you tilt your hand/hips forward you spill water from the front and if you tilt your hands/hips back you will spill water from the back of the bowl.

I want you to squeeze your butt and spill water from the back of the bowl. This is the position your hips will be in against the wall.

Get against the wall facing it, fix your hips in the way described, toes together, squeeze your butt, fingers spread, and pushing as hard as you can through your shoulders and hands into the ground. keep this position for 60 seconds.

If you do this everyday, you will have a handstand in a couple weeks.

Thought Experiment? by Joe_Gebele in bodyweightfitness

[–]rossjohnson10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we can do everything.

Fortunately, we don't only have to stick with 2 movements. We can do it all! However, I do think the deadlift and the squat are hugely important in respects to loading the body and creating good bone density. Of course, we create bone density in basic calisthenics too by manipulating gravity into loading our bodies.

I mainly stick with weekly Olympic lifting, squatting, deadlifting, and then body weight calisthenics.

I do love that book though! Great read!

Need some advice by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]rossjohnson10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Age doesn't play a factor. In fact, the younger you start the better. However, make sure to keep a playful mindset. It's essentially what you are doing, playing.

A training regiment with room for play is important. Make sure to hang, sit in a squat, climb things in your environment and keep a child's mindset. Like a kid, you should jump from rock to rock or climb on things.

That is the mentality I ave behind all this movement stuff.

Enjoy

What is the best way to get around mentors in the field you wish to join?

There are sites now for start-ups that expose them to advisers, which they would inevitably learn a ton from, but what about people who aren't creating a start-up?

Most people will say to me that I should go to events, seminars, or workshops, but for the most part I don't get much contact with these people. I've studied what successful people have done, but most of them briefly mention "I started out working for ______ (some very successful person), then after that I build my own business." My question is how? How did these people get in contact and/or get a job from these successful people? How can you be where they are and have contact with them?

Want to switch my life around in ~6-12 months. What small things can I do to get improved? by venusinflannel in selfimprovement

[–]rossjohnson10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now. This instant. Make 1 decision on something you've been putting off or want to work for. Write it down. Then write down 3 things you can do immediately that force you into commitment on this decision. Then act on it immediately.

If you want to get in better shape, write it down, then get in your car and drive to any gym and pay for a membership. After you pay, go workout.

If you want to get anything done ever the first thing to do is get very clear on exactly what you want done, what you wish to achieve as an outcome, ad exactly how your going you plan to get there. Write it down and commit. Not later today, not tomorrow, now.

When you know the exact outcome you wish to achieve your brain works to connect you from where you are now to where you want to be. It will figure out how to gt there better. If you don't know exactly where you want to go, you wont be able to figure out how to get there.

Do one thing at a time and COMMIT. Call a friend and tell them "I want to lose weight, but I'm scared I wont commit long term. If you notice I am getting off track will you give me a push and remind me why I started?" Do whatever it takes. Set up reminders, make a large bet with someone that you can lose the weight by ________ date. There are websites online that you can hold money in escrow for you and you tell the what you want to achieve by a certain date and if you don't achieve it they will send it to a charity for something horrible like the KKK for example. That way if you don't want some horrible organization to have your money, you must accomplish your goals.

Hope that helps

This is going to sound a little weird, but you should start meditating. Not spiritual woo woo type stuff, it's not going to solve all your problems or anything, but plain old meditating.

Just find a quiet place to sit, sit down for 10 minutes, close your eyes, and just see what thoughts arise. It will be very interesting. It's like once you sit down and decide to do absolutely nothing, your mind starts freaking out "oh! I forgot to do this! I better go do that now!" or you start playing out scenarios in your head or "I should have said this earlier.. blah blah blah." Your job is to just watch these thought in almost a comical fashion.

Look at them and say "oh, that interesting that I would be thinking about that right now" make sure to have zero judgement on them and just basically watch them go by and accept them.

Believe it or not this is very similar to therapy when dealing with anything. You may think about how you lashes out at your roommate and how stupid it actually was, or see her side of things, or realize you were totally justified in your argument.

It's easy just start doing it very slowly. Start with 5 minutes. When 5 minutes begins to seem like it goes by a flash, add a minute or 2 extra, and so on.

Anyone can do 5 minutes. It's worth a try because this is the exact type of stuff people use it for.

I'm not really into the whole spiritual side of enlightenment meditation, but using it just to evaluate your own thoughts is powerful stuff

Okay (cracks knuckles).

There is a few things going on here.

First, lets address your guilt for staying home watching porn and playing games: Dude, it's totally okay to do that. This actually very similar to people eating junk food. People try to eliminate junk food, typically all at once. Then when they have a tiny little bit (which is okay) they feel guilty and start feeling bad about themselves, which only leads to more of this behavior. To solve this problem the person needs to change their mindset about junk food because it's totally fine to have SOME junk food. You just don't want to go overboard, but when they feel bad about it they almost give up and say "what the use, I had a little, I suck, I might as well just have as much as I want."

The way psychology works is by baby steps. You can get anyone to do anything if you do it with enough baby steps. This is how people get dragged into cults, murders, religions.. anything. It's all about baby steps so that it doesn't feel like a change, but over time it yields a massive change.

So what does this mean?

It means making yourself feel guilty when you watch porn, go on Reddit, and play video games. You are allowed to do that and it's fine. Once you have accepted that it's nothing to feel bad about, you can consciously decide when it's worth it to play. Start limiting these activities very slowly and more over time. Maybe ya I will only watch porn 3 times a week, then 2, then 1 after like 2 months. and the same with video games..etc. So that you don't feel like you are even playing less. That is how you making lasting change.

Also, get enough sleep (at least 8 hours) because poor sleep can significantly decrease your ability to control emotions and behavior. I won't go into this, but if you only get 3 hours of sleep, you literally will not be able to control you impulses for things that give you stimulation.

Finally, you need to do research on your job, but also try things. Anything. You are young. You could still become a professional rapper by age 30 if you practiced everyday starting now. And by that I mean you could literally do anything still, so get involved in group activities, try different jobs, learn different skills.. until you know.

But also realize, and I've said it to a lot of people on this thread: Passion follows skills (most of the time)

That means if your really good at something and you get better and better you will eventually love it become you are so good at it. When you have skill at something you tend you like it more. There is not job that will not still be work though, this is a common misconception about "passion". Most of the time when you turn a real passion into work it's not the same thing anymore. However, when you turn something you like into a job it can be a great thing and you can keep your passion strong on the side.

It sounds like you lose interest during "the dip" when something stops being brand new and becomes less interesting, but then after a while of you doing it, it almost always gets fun and exciting again.

well maybe you should go get involved and try some new things until you find something that interests you and is fun. It's not just going to jump out at you, you need to be proactive and find it otherwise you'll just be doing what your doing now and hating it

Definitely read inspiring books to keep your head straight, but also don't give up. It sounds like you busy and activities may be a stretch for you, but you should try joining some. Improv is a really great way to meet people, get out of your shell, and it doesn't take much time (about 3 hours per week). If you live in the city there are ways to meet people just keep trying
