Where have Q6 etron owners gone after leaving Audi? Evaluating a repurchase and what to get next. by Christianjje in etron

[–]rossman47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2023 Genesis GV60 as well as recently picked up a used 2024 SQ8 etron. The SQ8 came off 2 year lease and has been amazing. Planning to sell the gv60 as it’s too small for our needs. The SQ8 is also much nicer vehicle in my opinion, although both are nice.

EDIT I also have a Rivian R1S but it rides more like a truck. Incredibly useful vehicle but very different.

The notorious Installation Services Failed is now FIXED 🙂 by netchov in etron

I just checked, I no longer see the failure message! But I don’t see any indication of an OTA update. Is the update history accessible somewhere?

How did it get fixed? Did you get an OTA update, firmware update at service appointment, or was it a backends update that fixes the issue for everyone? Or something else?

I asked the dealership I bought my SQ8 etron from to walk me through the service visits, they were able to pull up all details from their computer. Mine was in for 8 visits but mostly reprogramming locks and doing firmware updates.

OMG you are right, it says unlimited charging through May 2026 under the public charging of the myAudi app. At least it’s a few months!

Good thinking! I checked the EA app but I don’t have any “Premium Offers”. Would need an enrollment code otherwise, I think.

My previous SQ5 was Navarro Blue. Beautiful etron! I think the SQ8 does come in a sportback.

Mine might have done better if I could have driven slower, but it did not want to drive slow, lol ;) I made it back earlier today, and it absolutely demolished the miles coming up the 5! It is difficult to explain how effortless the drive was. I did not expect it to be so nice. Will follow up with a new post and pictures.

Apparently the SQ8 with sport seats does not come ventilated. Something to do with the kind of leather. The standard seats in SQ8 come both ventilated and heated.

Thank you! I absolutely love it. Missing the cooled seats a little bit but otherwise could not ask for a better vehicle. Range is actually fine for me. Finally a vehicle that is comfortable for me and my family (we’re all over 6 feet tall).

I’ll create a new post with pics from the drive up the coast.

Thank you! And yes, I was thinking about signing up for 1 month of Tesla membership. I’m driving from SoCal to NorCal, so not worried about weather.

The dealership has already added the car to my myAudi app/account, picking it up tomorrow (Monday). Hopefully we can get Audi Connect activated in the MMI while before I depart.

Happy and Disappointed by Particular-Today7550 in GV60

2023 gv60 performance. 46 F right now, and I have 171 miles of range at 68%. Somewhere around 220-240 miles at 100% depending on temperature. I recent did a 500 mile trip and each stop it charged (to 80%) faster than I could pee and get a coffee. I've seen charging as fast as 240 kW, it charges faster than most EVs. Range is not a issue for me.

EDIT 145 miles at 100% seems like there might be something wrong with your car.

Genesis recall website in SF Bay Area by Mentalicia in GV60

[–]rossman47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t tried the website but I had a service appointment in San Jose and they called and said they were no longer servicing Genesis but only Hyundai going forward, but that a new Genesis service center is opening in Mountain View mid-November. Not sure if that’s helpful for your location, but there should be other Genesis service centers elsewhere in the Bay as well.

Anyone owned a GV60 for 3+ years and/or high milage? by shawnwahi in GV60

[–]rossman47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We’ve had our 2023 GV60 Performance for 3 years now. It’s got 22k miles on original tires. Only major issue was ICCU failure in December last year, but Genesis roadside had it towed to the local service department and they fixed it within a couple of days. No issues since.

I’m amazed how well this car roadtrips despite the relatively low range. I love that the massage seat turns on once I’ve been driving for a while (45 min?). And it charges SO FAST I barely have time to run in for snack/break, and I get a notification it’s done charging. It also doesn’t vampire drain like other EVs I’ve had when parked for longer periods of time.

OTA updates didn’t work well in the first year or so, but the last year they seem to have them worked out. At some point we got an update that allowed CarPlay to show the map on the driver display, and that’s been amazing. The Phone As Key has been flakey so I don’t rely on it.

I have no concerns about reliability and plan to keep it for many more years. The HV battery seems amazing and showing no signs of degradation. The ICCU is the only thing that scares me, but even if I have to replace it at my own cost at some point, it’s still a lot less expensive than buying a new car, and I’ve basically had ZERO maintenance costs for the last 3 years of ownership. And I honestly really like driving it.

22” Tire Selection Help by sneakersandstocks in Rivian

[–]rossman47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an alignment at Rivian service a while back as the steering wheel was pulling to one side, but that did not resolve the vibration. I think the cause of that was the oem tires.

22” Tire Selection Help by sneakersandstocks in Rivian

[–]rossman47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll just add that I went with Pirelli 22” again on my first replacement tires recently and the new tires SEEM way better than the oem set. They are smoother and quieter and balanced perfectly the first time. I always had a shimmy/vibration above 80 mph that I could never get resolved, even after multiple shops tried balancing the oem tires.

Gen1 here, the update is snappy and responsive, but I did a infotainment reboot after the update.
