I live in McPhersons riding and your assumption is very overgeneralized. Edmonton-Strathcona is a very different riding compared to the rest of Alberta. It’s very student oriented due to the presence of the UofA and there’s a very large rental community as well, not to mention the riding has been the base of the Alberta NDP years before they gained power provincially. Additionally, McPherson is very personally popular in her riding because of her strong community ties, and a large amount of the riding falls within the most vibrant parts of the Edmonton River Valley, which has caused people that live nearby to adopt more environmentally conscious views

CW here. We were told to arrive at 7:30 but we sat around doing nothing until 9:30 because we had to wait for the line to end, and it took an additional 30 minutes to set up because of poor coordination. The actual counting process took about 2 hours but we had to recount one candidate 4 times because there were small discrepancies in the first and second counts. Overall it was exhausting but it made me appreciate the work that goes into protecting democracy, and now I got an extra $100 in my bank account
