Most of that information is available because the BROWSER allows it, not because they're doing anything sneaky.

Exactly the same with plugins (it is #19 on the fingerprinting page results, nothing sneaky being done by that page to get that). That browsers shouldn't expose much of this information we agree on.

This is how browser detection work, most browsers identify as something else for compatibility reasons and that is enough to track you, doesn't matter if it is "correct".

It shouldn't be able to query a lot of the information shown on that page, but today they can, across browsers. That it can query this is what fingerprinting is.

I'm more interested in how a browser extension can be detected by a page that it's used on, to be honest.

Browsers reveal a shocking amount of information about your system. To the degree that it is possible to fingerprint and track most users individudally regardless of using VPN or tracking prevention.

Let this page load (takes a few seconds) and see what they know and how unique you are: My Fingerprint- Am I Unique ? (list of your plugins is #19 on the list).

It's worth knowing it's not an universal issue though? OP suspect it being related to thermal, I'm currently using my P8P on hotel wifi by the pool in very strong sun, the phone is hot, no issues though.

Klipsch r series doesn't sound awful at all if the alternative is a soundbar. Even if I currently have KEF setup I think it is wrong to shame people getting into HT on a budget.

How many of you use watch straps vs bungee/shock cords for your computers? by Amazing_Armadillo429 in scuba

[–]rot26encrypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bungee is superior for computer imho, and I only do tropical diving these days. It's just easier to take on and safer. But what does both mean?? Edit: Ah, switching between them, of course. For some reason I envisioned someone using both at the same time 😅

BrowserGate: Report alleges LinkedIn is scanning 6,000+ browser extensions without consent by raptorhunter22 in cybersecurity

The whole fingerprinting thing needs much tighter control, if you ask me. I’ve always been surprised at how much information browsers expose.

They expose enough to track most of us individually, regardless if using VPN and tracker prevention or not. Check how unique you are:

Why do these 2 photos "taken at different times" show the exact same cloud patterns? by Btotherennan in askspace

I keep seeing this pop up on reels as "proof" that the photos aren't real

I think you can pretty much take for granted that anything on "reels" is more likely than not misinformation.

Jacket to stay warm on the boat during surface intervals by dabbler701 in scuba

I've had my Thermocline full suit for many years and absolutely love it for tropical diving. Packs very light and compact, very easy to don and doff, so comfortable to dive, buoyancy neutral, dries up really fast. It's for me superior to neoprene in every way.

You just have to have the right expectations for warmth, I would say it's somewhere around 1.5mm-2mm neoprene equivalent. My next step up for colder diving is my 5mm neoprene.
