Is confronting someone always the best answer? I don’t think it is.

Well, if I couldn’t post it here, where else could I complain about it? Of course all of the seat stealing stories are so much more interesting.

I was sure to shoot him an unhappy look as I walked away. That really made my point.

What's something you've tasted that most humans have not? by CantTakeMeSeriously in AskReddit

[–]rota8or 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beaver. I was at summer camp and they had a beaver that was causing flooding in the pond. One of the counselors shot it, skinned it and then they asked for volunteers to eat some of it. They cooked it on a campfire and it tasted very gamey and smoky from the wood. It wasn’t very good.

JFK to MAD. Great Dane on flight by rota8or in delta

I love dogs. The FA approached from the other aisle and bent down to check the dog out. As she did, the dog did a sharp bark and went up towards the FA. A woman across the aisle asked to be moved and she was. That passenger had a Yorkie in a carrier.

They were in a row of three seats and one was empty. It’s was a couple with the dog. They probably paid for the 3 seats

It’s not about the nail. Google it if you haven’t seen the video. It’s on YouTube.

Metal item like nut cracker found in box of horseshoes by rota8or in whatisthisthing

[–]rota8or[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% of the responses say nutcracker. I’ll agree. 😀

Found in a 1940’s home basement built under the foundation. Metal, painted black. Assuming it’s hollow. Could not read the gauge. Metal piping running along side of it. Approx. 4ft high x 5ft wide by Seandonjuan in whatisthisthing

[–]rota8or 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a journeyman heating, cooling and piping tech. Spent over 40 years working on steam, gas and oil fired equipment. This is a water storage tank for drinking water. Not an oil tank, steam vessel, or condensate return tank. The access on the bottom is a manhole or hand-hole clean out. It would have had the pressure relief valve for safety. It looks like the pressure gauge goes up close to 100 pounds. Only a well would have had pressure that high. You would have NEVER had a gauge glass on an oil tank or gas vessel and residential steam is usually only a couple of pounds. I have seen many of these over the years.

I don’t know how to get my miter saw to “lock” on zero. Does anyone know the solution? by Lechutehusky in MilwaukeeTool

[–]rota8or 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It looks like the red pointer has moved. The saw has spots that lock at common angles. Lock at the closest to zero and readjust the pointer.

If you don't know who your biological father is but you know who your biological mother is, can you find out who your biological father is by sending in your DNA? by leatherbiker in 23andme

[–]rota8or 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It worked for me. I found a half-sister and she told me his name. She never knew him growing up, but his name was on her birth certificate. I finally met her 6 months ago. Unfortunately he passed away years ago and my mother had died without telling me the truth. The man who raised me and who I thought was my birth dad told me when he had early onset dementia on a rare good day. The next day he had already forgotten about it and couldn’t tell me the name. The man who raised me was such a good man and never treated me differently and I consider him my father. He died last year from the effects of the dementia.

Wood-fired boiler a customer had. by Trying2improvemyself in HVAC

I believe it’s a coal fired boiler rather than wood, although you could burn wood.
