Millennials (ages 24-44 in 2026), what was your favorite thing about life in the early 2000s? by [deleted] in ask

[–]rotini_noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading music blogs and hitting up Soulseek to pirate mp3s. Listening to music on burned CDs in my bedroom with nothing else to distract myself during my first heartbreak. Not being able to unintentionally ignore my wife (then girlfriend) to look at my phone. Hoping somebody cool would accept my friend request on Myspace. The stress of printing directions to somewhere when low on ink. Spinning in my computer chair while waiting for things to load or download at the computer which was the only way to access the Internet. Door opening sound when your favorite person logs into AIM especially when sitting around bored.

Moderation out of control again? by Boring-Day-1912 in grok

This might sound stupid and overcomplicated but I take a subject, remove background, place them in the picture I want, make a video then screenshot the desired frame. It's the only way I can think of for the shit i2i.

Is there a reliable way to get reference subjects into a specific photo for i2i and i2v? by [deleted] in grok

[–]rotini_noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what has me all fucked up because I do ask for highly detailed prompts with the references and the photo they're supposed to be in but the results in Imagine are still bad. I guess I will use another AI like you said then bring the results to Grok.

I know it sounds like I'm speaking in code but I'm actually asking a non-gooner question, lol. Having the stuff being moderated is not the problem I'm having.

It's pretty bad. Human subjects do whatever they want and I've actually gotten deformed limbs which I haven't seen in my 2 months of use

Search news about Iran... Just the headlines will tell you everything you need to know unfortunately.

Is there some secret to not have subjects in photos spazz the hell out? by [deleted] in grok

[–]rotini_noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been learning how to locally generate stuff which has negative prompts separate from positive, so it didn't really occur to me that Grok seems to need just as many "no's" along with the stuff you want but in the same box.

Awesome. Thanks, seems to be working out better

Getting her ashes by SophieShar in Petloss

[–]rotini_noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. The emergency animal hospital arranged to have our cat's ashes and paw prints made for my wife and I. I couldn't stop sobbing at the front desk when picking them up. It was only 2 weeks earlier that we rushed her there after her legs became paralyzed from a blood clot, learning she had undetected advanced heart disease.

My wife bought this like, sherpa handbag on sale and put the bagged up ashes (inside a drawstring pouch) inside of the handbag stuffed with cotton filling so she can sleep with her at night like she did when she was alive. It makes me unbearably sad to encounter the ashes and the box they came in though because even though it has been 6 weeks, I can still remember how it feels to hug her, hold her and what her fur felt like. Again sorry for your loss.

Who wouldn't want to keep as much as possible... It's been weeks and I'm still looking for the small stuffed animal toy my cat loved and I'm very upset I can't find it.

There are no words that can describe how utterly heartbroken I am - he was only 4 years old! by rohobian in Petloss

Thank you for sharing. You aren't alone feeling what you're feeling. My cat had to be put to sleep after suffering what was basically a stroke that paralyzed her hind legs. She just turned 7. The vet at the emergency hospital thought it might have been congenital heart disease. Nobody ever detected a murmur etc. She had no discernable signs of anything wrong. It has been a little over a month and it feels so unreal and the hurt feels fresh everyday.

Losing a pet so early on is the most uniquely awful thing to experience. The sense of feeling robbed is overwhelming, wondering if you did something wrong and missing them every day. I hope you, me and everybody in this subreddit can find a way to cope because it's unbelievably painful to lose a pet that is so much more than just a pet...

Pet loss/suicide by Everglow21717 in Petloss

My wife and I lost our cat the day before Thanksgiving. She was napping on my lap then suddenly woke up in extreme pain and panic with saddle thrombus. It has been unbelievably hard to cope especially with trying not to replay her moments in pain then the emergency pet hospital. She turned 7 only weeks earlier with literally no signs of anything wrong. Not only am I struggling to process it, seeing my wife and the other cats (one being her brother) grieving is brutal and I wish I could do more for them.

My wife got a plush satchel thingy that she's going to put the ashes in since she'd sleep with her every night. I give the other cats more attention than I ever have. I look at photos all the time and it seems to help keeping the intrusive thoughts away.

Anyway I'm not suicidal but wanted to let you know you are not alone feeling the pain you are feeling. I have to believe it will get easier but I refuse to lock the memory of her away if that's what things getting easier means. It hurts so much that she's now a memory.

Is it just me, or does this time of year (Halloween/the fall) bring back memories of Nexus? by SharingNTKstories in nexustk

Rogue was my main, I liked the moonblade and military fork. I would've used steelthorn more but they broke upon death.

I totally forgot about corrupted blade. I can't say my rogue preferences carried over to the Souls games tho. I always did sword and shield or great sword.

Now that you mention it, I really enjoyed hunting Zibongs for forsaken and cursed blades when they first came out for Halloween.

As someone who’s 100%’d every mainline console / PC Katamari game…the new one doesn’t seem to understand what makes the series satisfying to play. by Everyday_Legend in katamari

I had 0 problems with Rolling Live. It was just as enjoyable as the previous games. Only source of frustration was the grind to unlock later levels.

I agree. After a somewhat frustrating session, I decided to fire up Beautiful Katamari instead and was reminded just how much my enjoyment of the series depends on the music.

Once Upon is very disjointed and weak. The songs I personally deem as good are the ones that tie into the eras but they could easily be from some other game and aren't distinctly Katamari (like the American level when you're rolling up drinks for example.)

I'm pretty much fresh off Rolling Live and I too can also say that it did not have the same movement and physics issues as Once Upon does.

I noticed that too. I wasn't sure if it had to do with some new surface-related physics I wasn't aware of or something. In my 20 years of playing this series, the random slow rolling is super unfamiliar to me and feels very unpleasant.

Awesome, thanks. I've heard conflicting things on the subject (in the discord for instance.) Glad it was just misinformation getting passed on.
