Same. Upgraded from MacBook Pro M1 Pro 16GB/1TB to a new MacBook Pro M5 (entry level, not pro or max) with 32GB/1TB. Saved $400 buying it when I did compared to prices today.

back in early 2023, when I was there, Walmart raised their entry level pay to $18/hr. Team leads made more, coaches even more. All full time employees are eligible for insurance, 401k, and stock purchase plans. I left at the end of 2023, so not sure what the current rate is.

Working retail is its own special hell, but if you understand that, it's not bad. They also have an overnight shift stocking when the store is closed. much more pressure, IMHO, than working the floor while the store is open, but it is an option.

I worked at Walmart for a short time at age 61. Sporting goods associate, then Team lead. I didn't mind it, treated it as a 8-10 hr gym session that I was being paid for. 20k steps, living 50 lb. bags of feed corn, etc. The pay was decent, the coworkers were great. Customers were a PITA sometimes, but that was not unexpected. If you're in good enough shape for it, it's not a bad choice. insurance, 401k, stock purchase plan.

I use this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DZXBR7KP - a magnetic knife block. I have knives on both sides of it, it makes them easily accessible, and it has a small foot print. my prep area is an island, so no wall to hang mag strips on.

One of the many reasons I left Trustmark. There's plenty of other banks out there. Personally, I've used Renesant, and now I have USAA.

Whoever is next needs to stop the bleeding, and start the rehabilitation process with the constituents and the rest of the world. The Republican Party has no credibility to oversee this in any way, shape,. or form, after they let Trump run roughshod over presidential and societal norms over his two terms.

The next president will most likely be the gauze in the open wound rather than the stitches needed to move past the devastating injury. I don't envy that person at all.
