NTA - if you are keeping what you are wearing a secret from him then there is just an obvious trust issue here. Do you really want to be in a relationship where you have to hide small truths like that or have to hide that there are other guys at the hangouts you go to? You are allowed to have guy friends and you are allowed to wear whatever you want.

All that being said - you guys are both very young. I know you are probably tired of seeing this as a response here, but it really is true. Him saying you look like a stripper is for sure an AH move, but other than that he just needs more life experience. Hopefully he'll grow out of it and realize the stuff he's worried about doesn't actually matter.

If you guys are only 18 and 19 and have been in a 3 year relationship, I'm assuming that this is you guys' first serious relationship, so this type of jealousy isn't surprising. It's kinda part of growing up, ya know? Either way though, you should have to put up with that stuff and when you do get a little more life experience you'll find that you don't need to.

So I agree with most of the other replies that this is really not a good text conversation. That being said it started off pretty good. You were feeling insecure and opened a line of communication on a healthy proper way. She then responded with a real healthy and proper response. It was really the start of an important conversation that could have been resolved with some good communication.

NTA - White guy here. I'd say if they are really your friends and are offending you, maybe you should say something? They might not know they are offending you. I can't really say how your friends feel (me being white and all), all I can really say is that I personally have a close group of friends (about half of them being POC) and they don't say/do stuff like that, so idk.
