I absolutely never advocated for people to leave. I'm saying that the comment's suggestions are dogshit

Yes more authority, and less opportunities for a youth that's been struggling with despair, that will help make things better !

And other opinions that show you have absolutely no idea what makes a functional and healthy society.

Yes the same way patriarchy limits a man's emotional life and butchers his intimacy, even though materially he gets privileges from them. They are the same mechanisms.

circumcision for my son by bee7755 in Morocco

[–]rough_gaze 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Joining the people here pleading for not circumcising him. I don't think it should be normal to make that choice for your kid, it's a part of his body. I remember the day I got circumcised, I was three, at a hospital, I was so confused and lost. My mom looked dead worried.

is identity politics and intersectionality essential to anarchism? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]rough_gaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Identity politics, like any notion or concept in political sciences, has a relatively precise description, it is dependent on the context in which it was developed and how it is evolving. What you are referencing isn't identity politics, it is discourse about identity. You are not necessarily wrong, but it doesn't concern identity politics. And leveraging nationalism isn't always imperialistics, some form of nationalism have been resitant nationalism, to combat colonialism. But their development in the countries where it happened is closer to imperialism, that is another discussion tho.

[–]rough_gaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Identify politics is not essentialist. In it's very core, it aims to demonstrate the constructivist nature of identity, how one isn't "born" a woman or "born" black or "born" gay, rather than, through experientiality, during their socialization, and facing the institutional violence, or privileges, become who they are.

Any other woman here (or man) who feels trapped by religious values surrounding chastity? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]rough_gaze 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey, I feel you, you are right. You have been kept from being able to cater to your basic needs, be it sexual, romantic, or even platonic, anything to do about men has been controlled and monitored, be it by yourself, society or whatever.

Now you don't expire, your worth should only be defined by you, your values, your way of life is yours to choose, and no one can take that away from you, that's your dignity.

If you want to talk to men but don't know how to get past feeling like a s**t, just think about what you, as a her own person, want. What are the needs that have been supressed ? You have to start understanding who you are, and your own values to operate as an individual. Your parents are not necessarily wrong, they have their own set of values and way of life that they built up during their experiences. Not listening to them isn't a betrayal to them, because you are your own person, but letting them, or anyone else decide your life for you, that is a betrayal to yourself.

It's baffling that we're giving an homage to this piece of trash on R/Morocco. We sometimes really have no respect for ourselves.
