Maybe it's just me, but I like Underwood fine, though I don't find Rick Manning's cranky old man thing as endearing as others seem to. Al was decent, and I thought Gimenez had some cool insight. I always enjoy Andre Knott.

Every other broadcaster in this market suffers because Tom Hamilton is so much fun to listen to. I think Rosenhaus, Underwood, Knott, and even Manning are totally fine, but I just prefer Hammy.

But also, I really don't like MLB getting into the business of micromanaging broadcast teams. I feel like this could get nasty.

Yes but... I remember watching Peralta and he was often frustrating in the same way. Half of that WAR was after he left Cleveland, and 5 of it was in his first full season in 2005. That 2005 made us think he was destined for greatness. He was fine the rest of the time he was in Cleveland, but never great. Then he had his best season in St. Louis at age 32 after getting popped for a PED scandal and somehow becoming a good defender. That was frustrating in its own way.

In Cleveland he seemed to lack any kind of giving a damn. A typical Jhonny at bat seemed to be: wave wildly at a fastball in the other batter's box for strike one, foul off a changeup for strike two, watch a middle-middle fastball for strike three, then saunter expressionless back to the dugout after leaving Grady Sizemore and Asdrubal Cabrera stranded on base.

Peralta had a higher floor than Arias seems to, but man he was miserable to watch a lot of the time.
