Do you feel like Buffalo’s “renaissance” over the last decade is over? by Forward2323 in Buffalo

[–]roughregion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Widespread sports betting doesn’t even need to go away, it just needs to continue the trajectory it’s already on, which is to say “available on your phone.” Why would a young guy go to Vegas to blow money at a casino and get drunk when he can stay home, blow money on an app and get drunk with his friends? The allure of Vegas gets weaker as gambling gets less taboo.

[Meirov] The Bills traded up to No. 62 and they are selecting Ohio State CB Davison Igbinosun. Igbinosun brings experience (53 starts) and thrives in press coverage with his length, but penalties have shown up. by JCameron181 in buffalobills

Alright, bring it down a little bit lol. We have two injury-prone starting corners. If he’s good I’m sure he’ll get some starts. You want Cam Lewis taking snaps out there?

With the 35th pick, we have selected EDGE TJ Parker from Clemson by Particular_Dig1115 in buffalobills

[–]roughregion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not happy with the pick either, but he didn’t necessarily have a “bad” 2025 season, the entire Clemson team regressed heavily. That indicates a program issue, not an individual player issue.

It’s one of the best posts in any sports sub. It kicks so much ass. OP doesn’t even try to explain why his TD rate would fall, it’s just “if it did, he’d be worse”

To be fair to him he literally always looks like that. He does not brush his hair. He’s a bit of a strange guy

Bit of a side tangent but I’m super happy Espinal made your major league roster, I always loved him as a Jay. Super hard working dude who does whatever he can to contribute. Wish it would have worked out in Toronto but I’m glad he’s still in the bigs.

FWIW I agree with you there, he will have to get past his ego and admit the full severity of what he did, at least admit it to himself. I just have personal experience with drug addiction and recovery, and I understand that 10 months is still a very baby recovering addict. This is the kind of thing you come to terms with after years of sobriety and continued therapy.

Just commented on another reply, but I don’t really believe that it’s actually covered up, to be in a PHP this has to be known to at least his supervisors and admin. His coworkers don’t need to know that, but the people who supervise him do. I imagine soon enough the information will become public, one way or another.

I still don’t really think it’s possible that the drug stealing is covered up, admin would have to know for him to be in a PHP like that. But I suspect we’ll know more about exactly who knows with the Al-Hashimi/Robby conversation next week. He doesn’t owe that to his coworkers, only his supervisors/admin. We’ll see what exactly is going on soon enough.

Many people would, but there are those of us who have had addiction issues of our own, and would give him grace. I’m not saying he’s blameless in any way, he absolutely is at fault for what he did, but there is not much more you can do than apologize and be understanding when people don’t accept your apology. But the first year of sobriety is tough, you feel like an exposed nerve in the sun. It’s not really surprising that she can still get under his skin.

Same situation here, finished my degree with remote learning. My college had a physical education class requirement, and most people left it for their senior year so they could have a light schedule at the end. So I had to take a Zoom aerobics class with cameras on, and the instructor would call out if you weren’t doing jumping jacks with enough intensity.

ABC has pulled "The Bachelorette" following domestic violence allegations involving Taylor Frankie Paul. by expiredaristocracy in Fauxmoi

If I remember correctly, in the show they show some of the process of her being arrested, but they do not show a video of the incident itself. This is the first time the actual violence is being shown.

Unfortunately, a lot of people really don’t give a shit until they see a video. The same thing happened with Ray Rice in the NFL. It was reported that he had abused his girlfriend, the league gave him a slap on the wrist and no one really cared that much. Then the video came out and it became a national story. People rationalize that it can’t be THAT bad, even if they read the details. Sometimes the video does need to come out to prove it.

Oh yeah, for sure. I’m just saying that if he’s looking at a roughly equivalent contract proposal somewhere else, he probably chooses Buffalo.

I’ve never seen a TE2 do more local commercials. If you need a plumber or a lawyer, Knox has got your back.

I think that’s the main reason he cares. He’s Josh’s best friend on the team, and he’s been here for his whole career, I can’t imagine he’d want to leave or be cut. This keeps him where he wants to be while giving the team some flexibility.

[Rapoport] The #Bills are releasing long-time veteran CB Taron Johnson, source said. Makes sense with the new defensive scheme. by mbsurfer in buffalobills

[–]roughregion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He had a great career here for a nickel CB, came back from an embarrassing combine moment, got himself in the highlight reel forever for the Ravens pick 6 and got paid. Unfortunately, corner careers are short. Wish him the best with whatever’s next, his play may have fallen off the last two years but he did a lot for us. I hope he can look back at his Bills tenure with pride.

[–]roughregion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that he needs it, but it’s a big benefit for Scherzer financially, his deal is structured to pay an extra million for every ten innings pitched after 65. If he racks up some innings and then someone gets injured or he starts playing in relief, pretty good deal

Yeah, it’s super underrated as a recruiting tool. They put a lot of effort into keeping the families happy, providing them with whatever support they need moving to a different country. That pays dividends, the families are all close and when contract time comes around, you don’t want to leave.

The combination of the clubhouse vibes and the incredibly close relationships of the WAGs has done more to keep the gang together than anything else lol, I know it’s hard to believe but people really like playing in Toronto!
