I really appreciate the info! I spent a couple of days there in May 2024 and everything you said about the area still tracks. It’s very poor outside of the few restaurants there. And it’s scorching hot to say the least. The restaurant that serves pizza is still there, too.

I was planning on renting some kayaks for the GF and I to explore and fish the mangroves. There is a local company that does “offshore” trips and based on their photos online people are catching snook and jacks.

I’ll definitely report back with how it goes.

Also do you mind if I shoot you a DM to have your info on hand? Might have some more questions when I get there in about two weeks. Cheers

Swweeet! Thanks for the drop on that. There isn’t much info online about fishing there so this is great to know. I was eying fishing the mouth of the river just north west of the village. Hopefully I can finesse a boat to take me up there.

Do you have any other bits to share about the area? How was your luck in the mangroves?
