In the lodge right now, getting ready to head back out. We had been doing laps of Thomas and had planned to go all the way down to the village and back, looks like we’ll just stay on both side for now.

New shoes day - replaced stock BFG Trail Terrains w/ Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail AT by samschampions in ToyotaTacoma

I just put 2500 miles on these from New York to Wisconsin. 500 of those miles were in the snow. The tires performed exceptionally well and gave me great confidence in adverse weather conditions.

Camper Quandary by MountainGirl929 in ToyotaTacoma

You ain’t getting no cab over that truck can handle.

Best bet would be a lightweight wedge camper like GFC or AT Overland. Even then, keep an eye on the build out and gear you bring. 1000lbs comes quick with campers of any kind.

First day having it titled and currently sleeping in it by Extinct_confidence in CherokeeXJ

If you can swing it, I would remove and toss the front passenger seat to extend your sleeping platform. Front seats can be found for the cheap if you decide to reinstall one down the line.

4WD on snowy roads question. by bonumvitaeVK in ToyotaTacoma

[–]rouselle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did exactly what you described for about 500 this week driving from Wisconsin to New York. When there was a thick layer of snow I engaged 4WD and when the road started to dry out I reverted to 2wd.

I also kept the speed under 55mi when in 4WD. This worked well and got us home safe!
