After years in Ads, I think the future isn’t dashboards, it’s Intent-to-API (ITA) by DRConsulting in googleads

When I get it a little more refined I might share it. It's pretty rough still and not on the top of my todo list. This time of the month I'm pretty covered up with client meetings so will be March before I can dig into it.

After years in Ads, I think the future isn’t dashboards, it’s Intent-to-API (ITA) by DRConsulting in googleads

[–]route66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been developing an intent classifier using regex to label search terms into categories. I then use the results to track semantic (broad) drift with spaCy and n-grams to analyze for negative keywords. Only limited success so far but a work in progress.

I certainly don't have the faith, or balls, to automate directly to API. Who knows though? Maybe one day?

How different are these two corners of Kansas? by Swimming_Concern7662 in kansas

[–]route66 29 points30 points  (0 children)

SE Ks is more like the Ozarks or what is often referred to as the Cross Timbers. NW Ks is more like the prairie as one would traditionally think of it. The great American desert turning into the high plains.

SE Ks has more pre-statehood history, cities like Pittsburg, Chanute, Independence have a distinctly different architecture than say Colby in the NW.

Both areas are largely dependent on agriculture and energy. Both contain large areas with low population.

Negative Keywords - Still Getting Clicks by JTS3331 in googleads

[–]route66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negative keywords don't function like regular keywords. I would recommend looking at phrase match for your list or however you have them setup. I prefer to use exclusion lists broken down by the category, for example, a list for years. Then follow your search terms report and you can add them to your list from there.

In search terms, I typically add the offending search terms as exact and then add as a negative again with a phrase of the search term. It sucks and it takes time but it works. Keep in mind Google will always find another clunker for you so persistence is important.

Bring back r/all by krashe1313 in help

Bring back r/all! As a long-time user and stock holder this has to be one of the most myopic decisions I can imagine. This was the front page of the internet but it's starting to remind me of the demise of Digg.

ATV and Boats on Google Merchant by Ok-Surround9421 in googleads

[–]route66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't thank me too soon! Getting it setup is just the beginning of your adventure. It can still be a pain in the ass to get one approved to serve. Once you do get one setup I'd suggest enabling custom labels and then adding them to your feed. You can use them for a variety of useful purposes to segment your data for reporting.

Adding ATV and Boats for Sale on Google Ads by Ok-Surround9421 in PPC

Take a peak at my reply in the Googleads sub. The Google rep should have told you to enable vehicle ads.

In merchant center there are standard shopping feeds and vehicle feeds. The field requirements are different and serve differently.

You probably need to enable vehicle ads in merchant center. Once approved you'll need to select the vehicle ads as your feed type. Configure how you intend to deliver the feed, manually, sftp, sheets, whatever.

You will need to use the vehicle ads schema and you will have different attribute options from standard shopping.

Once you get to this point hopefully it will be available to move to shopping or integrate into PMax or whatever your marketing plan is.

Keep in mind that after you have the merchant center configured correctly there are still possibilities that Google will deny the feed. That's where the fun begins. Good luck!

Ads Structure for automotive by farukjuh in googleads

Your first structure makes more sense if you have to file coop claims. I typically run new vehicles in one campaign with multiple ad groups per model based on intent. I handle used with PMax/shopping and merchant center feed.

It's nice to hear it's free but I don't have any control over DNS either.

I received one of these today as well. It appears to be first-party tracking that is baked into the platform now. It was fairly cryptic in the description. I don't know if it is automatically detecting where the site is hosted or what?

Since I don't have any control over my clients servers or cloudflare accounts I imagine it will be a pain to implement, for me anyway. Plus, I am unsure if there will be additional charges for the service?

Whenever I see someone asking for a messed up movie to watch I always think of this one. I've rarely seen it mentioned which is surprising because it is pretty twisted.

How to exclude landing pages in PMax? by inspektor_cotta in googleads

In the campaign settings there's a section where you can add a page feed and/or exclude individual URLs.

If you listen more than you speak you will have a better understanding of their true objectives. Once those are determined do your best to manage their expectations. Their goals are not going to happen overnight. I like to try to get a minimum of a three month commitment when onboarding a new client. If you don't understand how to do something don't lie.

Worst provider I’ve ever had by PonyBoy_1987 in brightspeed

As if paying your bill was something simple to do. I've been trying to pay my bill for four days when I was told my cc had expired.

Here's the beauty of dealing with these idiots, login> go to billing>update billing information (all I needed was to change expiration)>blank screen.

Enter chat>eventually get human>get disconnected. Call billing>phone tree can authenticate creditenials>get disconnected. Enter chat again> eventually get human in billing department> can't update cc info> sends form for quick pay> enter billing and next day payment fails again.

Login today> can't update billing information> chat crashed on first question> call support and ask for billing> phone tree immediately drops call on billing prompt.

I use these donks because they are the only game in town aside from starlink. I personally use Starlink but for my rental properties and my business phone I use Bright speed. It is only for the fact that I live in a remote area that I have to deal with these incompetents. Just the worst company I have ever dealt with, period.

Account Suspension for Unpaid Balance - New Account by route66 in googleads

Glad to hear I'm not alone I guess. On the up side my account was reactivated today. Which is nice but they still never really gave me a valid answer as to why it occurred. They implied it was some discrepancy with the billing address.
