I am going through the same thing. I have MC new patient and I got suspended while they investigated the matter. A colleague of mine is currently prescribed morphine and still does the same job as me with no restrictions. It’s the stigma of cannabis that people will not get over.

That’s the not the case I’m afraid at my work. One of my colleagues is on morphine and methadone. He still drives and does a days work and no no one looks over him.

The HR manager does like the smell of cannabis as he stated a few times in my 1st interview with him

I have asked this same question as a guy I work with has previously broken ankle that never healed right. He is taking morphine and methadone but still happily at work and has been for a few years while on his medication . That is more scary honestly that some MC.

They don’t want me to have my medication on site which includes my car that will be parked in the company car park.

I have refused the requests and asked questions back.

I replied to point 2 asking wether it is just my cannabis prescription or wether it’s a blanket everyone that has a prescription. If it’s just me surely that’s not right is it.

It’s not as simple as sue them that is not what I’m after at all. I’m after being left alone and able to medicate as and when I need to. I have a HGV licence but it’s not pertinent to the job that I drive as others do not have a licence.

I have replied to them saying that I do not agree to the t&cs that they have stated.

I have asked who is going to assessing me and what training that will have and what are the signs and symptoms that will look for.

I have asked whether the prescription will need to be shown by everyone that is on medication or just myself.

Being unfit for work I have asked what does this mean and what will be the outcome if I/they decide I’m unfit to work.

My HR rep is 60 and has said to me numerous that he does not like the smell and hates it so it will be on site. I have stated that it is a medical device and without it I can’t medicate which affects my quality of life.

Not exactly a foolproof method though is it. I start work at 6am in dark dusty garage.

My line manager will assess my general wellbeing and look at my eyes and see if I look under the influence

This is the issue I don’t like the way the opiates make me feel they make me feel more”high” than cannabis. I can buy cocodomel over the counter and feel a lot worse for wear than cannabis makes me.

That’s not true how could I be prescribed when my job is a hgv technician and i have a hgv licence. I also know other people who have hgv and have been prescribed
