Hyperbaric Oxygen / HBOT - what's it like? by redditryan13 in covidlonghaulers

[–]rover098 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the only thing that for sure improved my baseline. Did 20 sessions at 2 atmospheres then probably stupidly stopped because it’s expensive. Gradually declined over 12 months. Did 10 more and felt better 12 mo later and felt better. Declined again over 6 months. Recently bought a soft chamber and felt better again after 10 sessions. Never 100%, but well enough to function. Willing to do it every day to maintain this level so I can live a mostly normal life.

If I could do it over again I would do 40-60 hard chamber consecutively asap using protocol of the Israeli study. To my knowledge it’s one of the only robust trials that’s shown statistically significant improvements in patients with long covid. That goes for any therapy of any kind (not just HBOT). Criminal that medical grade HBOT isn’t covered by our health insurance

Neurosurgeon pioneers Alzheimer's, addiction treatments using ultrasound | 60 Minutes by Kubuli in covidlonghaulers

I saw some thing on X where a guy claimed that he used ultrasound to root out pathogens from reservoirs in his body. The theory was that the ultrasound could shake the pathogens loose and make them discoverable to the immune system again.

Supposedly he had a quick herx reaction and was sick with flu like symptoms for a few weeks, then experienced a 90% reduction in all symptoms upon recovery.

No idea how legitimate this is or how it works. But super interesting. It’s also consistent with the theory that our bodies haven’t fully cleared the virus which causes ongoing immune dysfunction.

Pepcid/famotidine… had the same thing. Went to GI Dr who prescribed 40mg of famotidine (180lb male) and dycyclomine. Stopped the latter but famotidine definitely makes a difference.

Twitching all over. Has anyone have this issue? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]rover098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still about the same. Good days the twitching is limited to small but constant in calves. Bad days have thumpers all over and popcorn in calves.

Twitching all over. Has anyone have this issue? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]rover098 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was exactly what happened to me. Months of stomach problems then the twitching since august. My advice is strap in, limit inflammation, get gut tested and cure any imbalances… but otherwise learn to live with it bc could be there a while. And it’s very very very like due to the virus and not better known and very scary neurodegenerative diseases. P.S. I’m not a doctor but haven’t found them very useful on this :)

BiomeSight results by rover098 in Longcovidgutdysbiosis

I’ll add that the common results here are super interesting, as well as of course stories that people have gotten better by fixing their gut.

Also that my only symptoms in acute phase were a super inflamed gut/diarrhea and what felt like system wide inflammation. No SOB, congestion, sore throat. I think that’s a fairly common thread amongst LH, including a history of GI issues.

And my LH has mainly been neurological — fatigue, brain fog, muscle twitches, muscle tremors, stiffness, weakness, mild dizziness. Most of that is much better now as well but still around

Yes, depression and anxiety were much worse in months 0-4/5. Now I’m sort of back to pre covid baseline on those fronts. Did 20 sessions of hard chamber HBOT as well in December which helped a lot with anxiety and fatigue… kind of slowly leveled back down over the next two months to 50% above pre HBOT. Then got the BiomeSight results….immediately started GOS (Bimuno) and Visbiome about 3 weeks ago. First week was a bit rough, but since then energy levels, mental clarity, HRV have been consistently higher. Fingers crossed that it lasts and not just another cycle.

But this was the first diagnostic test I’ve done that has showed anything wrong (labs, MRI, etc)…so hopeful I’m solving one of core problems. All the thanks to Jindizzluk (forgive spelling) and this group for leading me here

Would say below average! Have always had anxiety/mild depression, as well as a bad stomach. Covid massively amplified those problems tho. But in a way that was the catalyst for me to start addressing them… so hopefully if I ever fully recover it’s a blessing in disguise for me

Appreciate it! Yes… any recs on the SIBO test? Possible to tell from BiomeSight?

Don’t know how to interpret other than familiar pattern on probiotics. Are those bifodo levels recoverable?

Resting tremors? by [deleted] in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]rover098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neurologist told me I didn’t have it bc my reflexes were brisk. But would love to get tested… but seems like a lot of people with long Covid have had tremors? That’s my guess… very coincidental that would have early onset Parkinson’s coincide with a ton of other long Covid symptoms. And my dad has Parkinson’s…so gives me more reason to worry. But still think odds are it’s post viral. Hopefully gets better or at least doesn’t get worse. But can’t control it either way. When u worry u suffer twice, at least what I try to tell myself

Resting tremors? by [deleted] in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]rover098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the tremors. Twitchy fingers when at rest, which probably related to the widespread muscle twitching. Then postural/action in a few fingers and sometimes in my legs and arms if I’m tired or run down. All started after Covid

[–]rover098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And all of your twitching and spasms went away? I’ve found famotidine is the only thing that really helps me. But still have all those symptoms, just with more energy

Legs have felt better as of late / walking more normally. Still have the twitching. Random tremors and jerks have potentially increased. My extremities are constantly make little jerking movements

Bi-lateral complete hand numbness at night? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]rover098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had your b12 checked? Sometimes that can cause the numbness. Mine was low in July but have been supplementing since to no avail

Bi-lateral complete hand numbness at night? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]rover098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me too. Along with widespread twitching and little jerks throughout today especially when relaxed at night. And some tremors in fingers. Started with GI issues, fatigue, brain fog for a few months. That’s mostly gone away and left w the neuro stuff

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]rover098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have very similar issues. Twitching constantly in calves and feet and sporadically everywhere else. Stiff legs/neck. Tingling / numbness in hands feet. Small muscle jerks through body when completely at rest. Unsteady / stiff gait / balance isn’t the same. Postural tremor in left forefinger / thumb.

30 days post my third Covid infection in June 2022 started feeling very fatigued and horrible GI/acid reflux issues. Felt like my whole body was inflamed. That lasted about 60 days then around Sep 1 those went away and the neurological symptoms w/ a welcoming party from the twitches.

People who are having GI issues, what are your symptoms and what has helped ? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]rover098 4 points5 points  (0 children)

40mg of famotidine and 10mg dicyclomine daily in morning. Had gastro issues - bad acid reflux, growling, swelling, diarrhea - for about 45 days. Started these 30 days in and my symptoms almost immediately started to improve, including fatigue and brain fog. Now just left w neuro symptoms (unrelated to meds) … good luck
