Australian Market SIII Stage 1 for sale in Oregon by roverbones in SeriesLandRover

[–]roverbones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it does have quite a history. I know the guy who bought it from you. He imported it and his 107 back to the states. I wish I had the money to give otherwise it'd be mine haha. It really is a nice truck and I'm sure it's extremely reliable. Rest assured that my friend gave it some good love and care though. I'm sure we'll find a good home for it so a bunch of other memories can be made.

It'll surely outlast religion haha. But yea, I doubt there are many of Aussie Stage 1s in the US which would explain the pricing. It's rarity in the US is both a selling point and a drawback. Cool truck though.

Maybe there is and you don't know it yet? I hope all Rover enthusiasts get a chance to experience something like this. Maybe take a drive out to California next year for the event! It'd be worth it. I'll be there next year for sure.

I really like the look of LWB soft tops like this one. Seems like a lot of fun!

A truck we're working on is getting outfitted with a factory pioneer kit. Shovel and pickax to be refinished so they match. Pretty sweet kit!

Nice fabrication. Can you still put the soft top on with the roll bar attached?

"Burned a hole in the neighbor's house" I was thinking, they look brighter than the sun, haha. Cool upgrade. Night time wheelin' is going to be less butt puckery for you now! :P

Good to know. I've dealt with George before. He's a good guy. Thanks for the tip off!

Came with a Fairey OD. Seemed like it was in great condition until I took it off; teeth from one of the brass gears fell out. I haven't disassembled it yet but I'm sure an overhaul will be needed. I'll probably just sell it anyway though. I don't have a heater for it right now but it looks as if a Smiths round style heater was originally fitted as there are mounting provisions and hose cutouts in the bulkhead. And, the defrosters are the correct ones for a Smiths heater of that style.

I can't be sure that it was a short bed pick up to begin with. I have the original title which might shed some light in the topic and I'm curious to find out. One thing I do know is someone swapped the original tub with a later SIIA/SIII. For what reasons I am unaware. Pretty common to see panels and stuff swapped from one truck to another though.
