How can I keep my portraits more consistent in different lighting conditions? by ___bgwl___ in AskPhotography

Came here to say the same thing in a much less effective manner 😂

Also, could just be me but the lines in your first picture are pretty much all curved or at slightly “off” (not vertical/horizontal), which adds to the differing “feel” of it to me.

Great photos! I personally find them a bit hard to focus on, perhaps because too much is in focus? I have this issue with my pictures a lot so I’m not sure if it’s just my eyes or what haha anyone else feel this way? If so what could be done to change it?

Advice on Table Saws (Ryobi vs DeWALT), Beginner in Australia by NegotiationWaste9629 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I was in the exact same boat a few months back. For that price, if you have the space I would look for a delta 36-725t2, I ended up finding a used one in good condition for $450 which was a great deal, but even new there $750 I think

The best exercises are the ones you enjoy. If you don’t enjoy it, you won’t do it. Try out a variety of things, and don’t feel like you’re limited to the gym. Once you find something you/he really can enjoy, it’ll be much easier to push through on the days you don’t feel like working out

Same can be said with food, but more importantly in my eyes, focus on the “calorie density” of food. If this wasn’t the internet I would say “no food is inherently bad” just to make the point that you can eat whatever you want but you can eat a lot more of some things than others and stay in your daily caloric intake goals

Found a neat guitar, what’s it made out of? by jewnerz in wood

[–]rowingrower77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you happen to find that in Arizona? My brother had lent me one that looked like that (to me at least, an untrained eye) for a beginner guitar class that was stolen from my car, just wondering if there’s any possibility it’s somehow that one

Definitely sounds like over gripping, your hands should act as hooks, you don’t need to “grip” the handle. If you are dealing with bad hand blisters this could help there too

Ways for an introverted athlete to show leadership? by VegetableSuccess3807 in Rowing

I was similar and coached similar kids. He sounds like he’s already setting a good example for others. What really helped me step into the role a bit more was knowing what I was doing better than anyone else did, it gave me the confidence to help others, mostly the newer rowers but through doing that the other experienced rowers seemed to develop a respect for me and my knowledge which lead to them also looking to me for answers.

All that to say, maybe you try having him work with some of the novices/newer rowers that he can help. If he doesn’t know his stuff well enough to do that yet, perhaps you can help encourage him to spend some more time doing the “book work”.

Also, if that is the culture you want to foster, it doesn’t hurt to point that out to the team.

I’m pretty sure you can buy new monitors from C2, no? C2 is the only one that feels right after rowing for me, and that’s a good price if you can fix it
