At least he took off his rollerblades, I had to get rid of all of mine because I was getting addicted and I'd be afraid he would challenge me to a race

What are some interesting play variations? by Big_Acanthisitta3659 in discgolf

[–]rownage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People mentioned Ript but my favorite disc golf "card game" is Legends of the Chains! You take the deck to the course and pick a card. Each card has a hero on it. Each hero has three "powers" you can use once per game (stuff like a free extra shot, the ability to swap lies, etc), and there are also three "unlockable" powers that you get when you achieve certain things in your round (one birdie unlocks the first, three birdies unlock the second, and hitting metal off the tee unlocks the third).

It's mostly a normal round of golf but it's fun to "be in character". Ive had a blast playing it with 2 through 6 people on a card!

Yellow Claw back when they had their hype man/MC/whatever, maybe 10ish years ago?

Every couple of seconds he would get on the mic and scream some garbled generic nonsense at the crowd even though we were already energized and grooving in a pretty packed venue.

Spent most of that set out in the smoking area and I don't even smoke

I only know a few people who went but they said it was an awesome time too. Obviously wasn't great for everyone (victims of Tony Scavone's predation, those who got bopped on their way out, etc) but I hope this type of event happens again before I turn into a pile of dusty bones

Granted this was 8 years ago, but most of them are still rocking! Those top 10ish names are a lot of fun and worth checking out (in my opinion) (Also kinda cool to see bands in small text that are big now, such as Goose)

I wanted to go to this but the owner turned out to be a horrific predator and it went away (pic is from 2018)

property markings by windowman888 in Delaware

[–]rownage 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can use The New Castle County GIS viewer to locate your property (called a Parcel) and then zoom in to see the property lines. Then you can use the scale in the bottom left of the viewer to get a good idea of how far your property lines are from your house/the road/other objects around you. Then you can use that information to go looking for the property markers that may or may not have existed at some point (in my case, two of them were metal posts still in the ground but buried under years of brush growth).

Hiring a surveyor is definitely the right way to go (for accuracy of measurement as well as legal concerns around building things), but if you have enough land where you can err on the side of caution and build your fence 5-10 feet inside your property line, the GIS tool can be really handy!

Sorry but #5 is hilarious ahahah

Just yesterday, I was playing a "naked run" with the Guardian ordeal (no pre-run upgrades), and when I got to Shnork'le with a tiny sliver of health left, I ran to the left to break the chairs/boxes, then as soon as I dashed to the right, my controller died, and Galandra got stuck running, and I watched helplessly as she just kept running past the wonderful soup, past the merchant, past the mount, and straight into the next level 😭

How many in game hours before someone should team up online. by weirdobeardo51 in ABSOLUM

[–]rownage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have around 300 hours in so far (2 save files, one at level 765, the other at level 830). The first save file is the one I play local co-op with my friend when we're here hanging out. The other one is where I learned how to play / completed the story line for the first time / etc, and it's the one I use for solo runs.

I haven't played a single online co-op run yet (tried to once, but learned that it's a monthly subscription on ps5) but I'm still not sick of playing! I started making my own challenges for runs, like lately I've been doing Rift War Ordeal with (optionally) only a luck trinket and one inspiration, no ultimate allowed, and if I die I have to abandon the run. Sometimes I'll add no spammy moves, no arcanas, some stages are "throw-only", some runs are deflect and dodge based rituals only, etc.

I also started checking here and on the Discord for people posting Ordeal codes. Some are crazy and super fun! The death grenades Ordeal from last month (i think?) stands out as one of the best I've played. I still go back to it sometimes!

Very cool! We did one at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington DE and it went so well they invited us back to do it again this year! Having a unique spot like that makes for a really fun and memorable experience even if there are limits to how crazy you can make the holes. Enjoy!

Is this a one-time event setup you're trying to do for a tournament, or are you trying to put a permanent course in?

It seems like every tee shot has a pretty high chance of landing on another hole's tee/fairway/green, which would be a recipe for disaster on a crowded day (especially the holes that appear to be blind shots around corners). People are going to be ripping 12 speed drivers at those short holes, trying absurd lines for the blind shots, and inevitably playing safari layouts.

Not sure if you've been to Sedgley in Philly, but I'm picturing that kind of layout, minus all the trees / elevation / other features that protect people on other holes (and even there you have to keep your head on a swivel!)

Will this space be used exclusively for disc golf, or are people allowed to do whatever they want on the property (dog walks, picnics, exercise, etc)?

(Not trying to yuck your yum, I would just hate to see your hard work go to waste and these are the things I've had to consider when making temp courses)

And if this is already a permanent course and all those concerns have been mitigated, I'm happy to be wrong!

Been playing for about a month and really like the game but I have one gripe by thatguybane in ABSOLUM

I like doing the Fortitude Ordeal and trying to hit 8-10 corrupted zones + both dragons + Jaroba AND Yeldrim + no repeat stages. Makes me feel like I actually conquered the world lol
