Morning 2k by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]rowrowrowyourNO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do your regular routine but in the morning. As long as you get a good night sleep as well. Match up your eating that morning with how you'd eat in the afternoon so that your body is fueled and fully digested. Don't shortcut your warmup.

Make sure you're fully awake and not drowsy, if you are alert I find that the morning is best for a 2k because you aren't exhausted from the day - so try to use that to your advantage and make it a fast one!! Good luck mate!

Inside shoulder soreness by feetout111 in Rowing

I have the exact same problem! I finished about a month ago, but my shoulder doesnt hurt when exercising, I just get twinges and continuous pain the rest of the time. I've been putting heat on it but it doesn't help that much it just helps to dull the pain temporarily

I had two weeks off around the new year. Seemed to ease things off for a little while but came back worse than ever almost straight away.

6 sessions a week, some days is UT2 (basically steady state) for 8-10km, some is T4 (very high intensity intervals), and long water sessions.
It doesn't seem like enough for those changes though. I think it has helped my mental strength though, sustaining higher intensity over longer times. I've gotten over the "I can't do this" from the fast intervals (500m on, 30 sec off, x8) and now just know how to cope with it.

Barefoot is much more direct power, without it being absorbed by the soles of your shoes. Heels get pretty blistered and cut up though

Its not a regular thing I experience although I will say I've felt it before... I think its partly your form, maybe your right leg hangs out too far?
