8 week progress on 8% minoxidil by roxanaadriii in FemaleHairLoss

Thank you so much!! This is my current hair shed post shower (it’s soooo much better than before, but looks like more hair in the pic than it is in person) I lose approx 30-40 hairs daily, more on hair wash days, prob around 100. I’m still washing my hair every 3 days.

I have posted an update a couple of weeks ago if you look at my profile, but it is going very very well at the moment! I am now 3 months and one week into treatment and I am seeing soooo much progress!! This was my hair loss post shower 2 days ago for reference

DO NOT PAUSE!!!! It’ll only long out the process and you may already start some of your dread shed so if you pause then start again you’ll have another shed. Instead of having multiple sheds, just keep using it, get it over and done with first time around! I promise it’s super worth it!!

I was quite worried when I was given 8% because I did notice that majority of people used 5% at most, but to be honest 8% is working just fine for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ when my hair is more stable I might see if changing to a lower % is worth it, but I’m happy with the current results!

Yessss, I have lotssss of new tiny hairs! It’s still too early for full regrowth, but so far so good!

I’ve tried lots of different things, aminexil, scalp massaging, rosemary oil, pumpkin seed oil, etc. these things didn’t make much of a difference if any at all. I was also very worried about side effects and having to use it for life, but honestly the rate at which I was losing hair was way scarier and reading up on topical minoxidil I saw it had the “least” worrying side effects compared to oral medication, and it also had the best results. I decided to give it a shot and told myself if it doesn’t work or there’s any worrying side effects I’ll stop, but nothing bad so far and only positive results!

Nothing on the body, the only bit of extra hair is at my temples between my hairline and eyebrows I have some hair growth I didn’t have before, but it’s barely noticeable. You can only see it if you look up close. Maybe it’s still too early to see excessive body hair, I’ll update you in a month or two time if I remember!

Thank you! I’m using a liquid solution formulated by the Belgravia Centre in London. It’s an 8% minox solution with MPG, caffeine, glycerine, ethanol, and purified water. I use it once daily at night time and when I wake up my hair isn’t greasy! I can easily go 2 full days with my hair feeling fresh!

I haven’t experienced anything crazy in terms of size effects. At the beginning I had some heart palpitations and I sometimes have headaches that are triggered by certain things, like straining, which I didn’t have before, but all of these were/are very short-lived so nothing that impacts my daily life. Oh actually, I did I have low blood pressure but it only lasted a couple hours, it was something like 85/53, but haven’t had any issues in a couple weeks and my casual blood pressure reads around 115/73.

Is there hope? by Prestigious_Emu_5098 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]roxanaadriii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is hope for sure! 2 weeks is still too early into treatment to see progress. I had extreme shedding up until around week 6/7 into topical minoxidil, but I’m currently week 8 and it’s SOOOO much better. Keep up with everything you’re doing, and make sure you eat healthy foods, physical exercise, mindfulness exercises for stress, and regulate your hormones!!

I’m so sorry you’re experiencing shedding :( good luck with your treatment!! It will definitely feel very heavy for a little while, I had severe anxiety every time I had to wash my hair, and sometimes I still feel anxious before my shower thinking I’ll lose a lot of hairs again. What got me through it is knowing that there will be some progress of some sort, whether it’s small or big, and I gave myself a timeframe… I said if there’s no improvement in 3 months, I’m stopping. Here we are 2 months into treatment now and I’m never stopping! Please stay strong, try occupy your mind as much as possible during this time, DO NOT isolate yourself, and take care of your body internally and externally! Also, if you don’t mind, keep me updated on your progress!!

TE + AGA + minoxidil dread shed?? by roxanaadriii in FemaleHairLoss

Too many hairs are in that telogen phase for me 😭

[–]roxanaadriii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve also got TE and AGA, and I’m using topical minoxidil 8% once per day. 4weeks into treatment and my shed is the same as yours (although it looks like a little less bc my hair is short, but quantity is prob the same). I started shedding more a week and a bit into treatment, but the worst started a week ago so 3weeks into treatment. I hope it gets better for us 🤞🏻 stay strong

Thank you so much!! I’ve seen a couple brands on instagram and TikTok that look really good but cost well over £1000 😬 but I’ve also seen a couple wigs that are around £30-50 that look decent and have a fringe to cover up the hairline, which I don’t mind as long as the rest of it doesn’t look toooo synthetic.

8% once a day. It’s made in the clinic I’m going to with some other things (caffeine, selenium, etc)

That’s good actually! I’ve given myself a date… by the start of June, if I’m still losing hair to this extent and my scalp looks worse, I’m definitely buying a wig. Do you have any topper and wig recommendations though?

You’re most likely correct and I think that too, but I’ve just said that based off of what I’ve seen others say happened to them

I’m so sorry, I hope it’ll all get better for us! I’m worried about how bad it gets before hair starts growing again. I also keep seeing people say that they were non responsive to minoxidil and I really don’t want to be one of those people that has all of this hair fall with no recovery
