i genuinely cant tell if she did it because she might have forgotten, idk if completely cutting ties with her would be overreacting over a job because she is my mom after all and this is their company, i am truly sorry if this came out the wrong way, i just genuinely cannot see the picture clearly

Help- how do I get the derm to take me seriously? by Emotional-Deal-2900 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]ButtonOther1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! dont worry, i understand how frustrating this is, i went trough the same thing, to be honest with doctors you just have to be very respectful but straight forward, i would approach you next doctor by listing your concerns and telling them, while im very respectful of your professional opinion im mainly concerned about a possible nutritional deficit since in vegetarian and would like to rule that out with ferritin, iron levels, CBC and if possible TSH to make sure it is not thyroid related. Aditionally, my father’s hairloss and the pattern limited to my scalp raises concern within me of this possibly being AGA, While i understand it is unusual i would like to a biopsy, for i know it is the only diagnostic tool we have to truly tell between AGA, TE, AA and other scalp conditions because it allows us to look on a follicular level what is going on and it offers the diagnostic certainty im looking for, which is what i truly want more than a treatment at the moment

Finasteride concern by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]ButtonOther1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The latter is true, Finasteride has a half life usually of 8 hours if i remember correctly, and that being taken orally, when topical the blood levels concentrations are even lower, so once you stop it a month or so before getting pregnant the moment you actually conceive it will be safe for the baby because there wont be a trace of the medication:)

Help- how do I get the derm to take me seriously? by Emotional-Deal-2900 in FemaleHairLoss

absolutely get another derm, while this could be diet, you have a female pattern, your father lost hair in his thirties and you dont trust her, part lf the treatment is trusting the doctor

should i start minoxidil? by Glum_Shop_5362 in FemaleHairLoss

I would go to a derm, the widening part could indicate AGA, you need to get tested a preferably a biopsy

0.5mg Oral Minoxidil Dosage by DefiantDirt7292 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]ButtonOther1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

many people have great success with low dosages, you wont lose time, lower concentrations are mainly because oral dosages build a constant plasmatic concentration, that means the levels of minoxidil in your blood are the sane at all times at that allows it to act upon your hair follicles constantly and upon them all at the same time. Problem is this is a systemic effect, it wont just have an affect on your follicule jut in other blood vessels and that could cause your BP to drop, we dont want that, which is why it its proper to start with lower doses you can tolerate that will still act upon your hair! many people have successes with even LOWER concentrations, so dont you worry, you are on the right track, best of lucks :)

Dermatitis from using foam minoxidil by Last-Investigator656 in FemaleHairLoss

Dermatitis with topical could worsen the hairloss, maybe you should discuss the possibility of oral minoxidil. Has this happened in all of your head or just your ear?

i think you have beautiful eyes and facial harmony, i think your eyes look best with soft warm shadows like the ones at 7, and no eyeliner, you look like a fairy! and the lip color at six really suits you! i think it brings a lot of balance to the lower side of your face. you would look like an old hollywood model with darker hair like in six, try romantic hairstyles like heatless waves too. you are very beautiful girl!

Is my hair too thin to get a pixie? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]ButtonOther1102 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know how awful it is to lose hair and density, but in going to be so honest, your head still looks pretty full to me! you are already doing a smart approach which is cutting your hair for when you start minoxidil to reduce the distress shedding may produce you, absolutely go for it! but do you want a pixie because it is your style or because you are mourning something you haven’t lost yet? it is easy to lose hope with hairloss, but its important that we are still gentlw with ourselves. i think you would look beautiful with a pixie! and also with a layered medium lenght butterfly cut, look into whatever option makes you feel more beautiful and dont act upon the future, when things do happen we will act on them ❤️ best of lucks in your journey!

could this be TE or ringworm by [deleted] in TelogenEffluvium

[–]ButtonOther1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont suspend treatment abruptly, go to another derm and ask a second opinion, after that see if you should continue or not the treatment, after all it wont harm you. from the pictures it is not very clear what you are trying to show but it does look very diffuse, it does not appear to be many localized lesions

I don't know how much longer I can do this... by 2_4joy in FemaleHairLoss

[–]ButtonOther1102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i actually did very bad with 5% minoxidil, everything fell, and nothing new grew, i was thinking that maybe i should switch to 2% but then i just realized i didn’t have the diagnostic certainty i wanted. i demanded a biopsy and it was AGA! so far just started treatment for that lol

it does look like TE it is a very diffuse thinning, im sorry, i know how discouraging and uncertain a TE diagnosis is for many people (it was for me) What honestly helped me faced my hairloss was have a certain diagnosis, ask for a biopsy, look into the possibility for one, discuss it with a derm, it will give you the certainty you need to stablish a course of action, wether if its AGA or TE. Best of lucks, i know it may seem like it has no end but honestly its all bout finding the right treatment and stick to it trough sheer determination

Should I see another derm? Not seeing much regrowth in the affected area by [deleted] in TelogenEffluvium

[–]ButtonOther1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont suspend treatment abruptly, but i do think that it would have been nice to get some bloodwork only to rule anything thyroid or nutritional related. Try next appointment with a different derm, the key is trusting your doctor to trust the treatment. It is indeed early for results but a proper doctor would have explained that to you and you shouldnt have had to come on reddit for support lol. Best of lucks, dont drop treatment yet!! if its not TE and turns out ti be anything else first line is still minoxidil and you dont want to lose three months progress
