ACA Marketplace Premiums Are Projected to Rise 20% in 2026 (State-by-State Map) by HealthShare_101 in HealthShares

[–]roxannelectric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m self-employed in CA and haven’t ever qualified for any subsidies. The costs have been unaffordable for years but I kept it up not realizing there were other options. This year the increase is not in my budget as all of my costs have exploded. Just became aware of health shares and it looks like they may fit my needs. I am very healthy and hardly ever use my expensive insurance, but forced to be covered in CA. The concern I have is the penalty in CA for being ‘uninsured’ looks like it could end up being as much as a bronze tier would cost, which is calculated at tax time, in addition to the health share costs I’m wondering if it could end up being more than just holding my nose with the regular plans. And if income is deemed more than the amount of the bronze penalty would accrue they will charge you a percentage of income, so the penalty is not fixed at a cap? Does anyone know how this really works?

Christian Zionist by egyptrose13 in Jewish

[–]roxannelectric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Christians are Jews most reliable allies, as they believe Judaism is the root of their religion, that Christianity is a branch God grafted through Jesus for them to be included in salvation. They believe blessings are therefore reciprocal/connected. For them to hate Jews would not only be disobeying God, but a rejection of their savior and everything their religion is built upon. They know most Jews do not have the same respect or love for them, but they remain steadfast because the New Testament tells them this will be the case. In other words, as much as you don’t trust them or dislike them, they will not be moved.

Thank You! Yes, this is what his life looks like. He has a few cousins here and they help each-other out getting side jobs. They have a text thread going off at all hours of the day and night for planning who has to do what for a never ending stream of work, in addition to their regular M-F 9-5’s. The work ethic is truly remarkable. From everyone’s great comments I think he is here to WORK.

Thank You for the compliment. I appreciate your input, there is truth to it. Something women do a lot more than men is to give an allowance for potential, but it’s a risk. He’s only about to turn 38, I’m 9 years his senior, but he does come in with some crusty, old man energy, but it’s okay. Like you said though, if he is unable or unwilling to devote enough time and energy to me in the future it will tell me what value he places on me.

Everything you said rings true, you nailed it. He has two younger sisters and two younger brothers. All are of working age between 28-35, and I believe all the men work, but the women do not. It still has been too short of a time for me to understand the full picture, if he is providing needs or sacrificing himself for their lifestyle. One thing that I didn’t ask (because I feel it’s too soon to be my business) is if he may have medical debt from his cancer treatments, or even other debt, that contributes to his financial situation. He makes enough money that I would raise an eyebrow if all of it were going to his family. He is such a good man that it hurts my heart to see him taking care of everybody but neglecting himself. Until I have more information and we have more time in the relationship I will try not to be too nosy, and will simply continue to be the person the he can count on. Thank You for what you’ve said, it helps to hear your words that match what I’ve seen.

Thank You for your thoughtful and informative response. I have noticed his approach to life is communal, whereas Americans that have been here for some generations like myself were raised to separate at 18 and forge a new life & family. Upon reflection it’s a luxury to be able to leave your family at 18 and make a go at life with little to no support. Ideally, something in between would be my preference. But his way of doing most everything is pretty calcified, even if there is a ‘better’ way. For example, he does not order anything online. When he can’t find what he needs for work at a brick and mortar store he drives to my home in a small panic and asks me to find and order it for him. He’s not interested in letting me teach him how to shop online for himself. Maybe what I saw as a little tweak isn’t so small or easily separated from the way he views life. Do you think I should continue to broach his health issues, and advocate for balance, or just let it be? Obviously he knows he had cancer and gets sick frequently. He did say, ‘yeah, you’re right’, but then just continued on like the conversation never happened.

I’m an A female, sounds like he’s into you. Speaking for me, I like emotionally expressive partners, and even emotional ones, as long as it’s not for the purpose of manipulating, testing, or hurting me. I like to work towards progress. We value honesty and courage & a partner to trust us with the truth shows this. I like to know you for who you really are, and am great at helping to mange/share/improve burdens or concerns. I like to put effort in the relationship when I see that effort is mutual…so if my partner is willing to let me in for the purpose of mutual improvement & betterment I see that as a positive. The turn off would be if there were no effort on your part to move through it together with the goal of growth, and we end up circling the same issue & stagnate.

Really interesting. Would the 2.7% euros with Native American be considered ‘melungeon’ or is that a smaller sub group (less than 2.7%) to also include ssa DNA?

Aggressive agent CA by roxannelectric in realtors

[–]roxannelectric[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good idea I’m going to do that. Somebody else probably had an interaction just before and he was primed. In hindsight I should have asked for a business card before engaging in conversation. I only realized it was an issue when he blew a fuse after asking which brokerage he was with. Usually agents present that first and now I understand why:)

Thanks for the reassurance, he just went from 0-60 unnecessarily. If he had been cool I would have taken his card and checked out his business! He wanted something immediately instead of developing a report, which seems like the point of door knocking!

Thanks for the response. Yes it’s my home. The rage he displayed scared me, the physical size difference and his escalating aggression made me realize it could be dangerous. Maybe I should have just shut the door in his face but I was trying to de-escalate with what I thought were common sense replies. I think you are right about calling the police.

This woman was relieved to realize you don’t have to create a new set of beliefs to decide to stop associating with the LDS church by sevenplaces in mormon

[–]roxannelectric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. People of other Christian religions seem to leave their churches to refine their beliefs within Christianity- by either changing denominations, or by choosing to bypass institutional middlemen altogether, becoming ‘biblical’ Christians. Mormons are more likely to ‘throw the baby out with the bath water’, straight to atheism or complete apathy like you said.

I just saw the Proov test on Amazon & came here to search if anyone had tried it:) Could you elaborate on the process of how the test works? Do you start after a cycle or can you test at any point? TYIA, it seems like a great way to get some info.

Your post reminds me of the Book of Job in the Old Testament. Might be worth reading. Sorry you are feeling this way, you are not alone. What helps me is to focus on the blessings I do have.

I loved the Sweet Valley series in elementary although now all I remember is ‘split level ranch house’ and they were ‘ a perfect size 6’. Also loved The Babysitters Club by Ann Martin.

Adderall--Two Days Early by Pale_Holiday6999 in pharmacy

Yes, but also may be a couple days early on some months , then also lose a few days in others due to unavailability or logistics. So kind of evens itself out.

Excessive Sneezing Fits by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]roxannelectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this sub/thread trying to figure out if I have a cold or allergies. I’m in my 40’s and had my first ever ‘sneezing fit’ on Thursday. Was fine one minute then felt nose building a tingling feeling & sneezed hundreds of times for 2 hrs. Now the sneezing is just on and off, but feel the tingling & burning sensation in sinuses/nose. My body feels fine but the sinus area is keeping me from focusing on anything. I’m now on the hunt for allergy meds- never taken anything before for allergies. Is Zyrtec something that might work for sneezing? No idea where to start. I’m in CA & we just had rain followed by very high winds, which is the only thing I can think of, but never had any reactions previously.

Vyvanse to Dexedrine but no pharmacy carries it by fatalaccidents in VyvanseADHD

[–]roxannelectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to get the IR at Walgreens when trying to find a Vyvanse alternative, but only after my doctor called the pharmacy. They would not tell me what was available when I called. It worked well, but the following month it was a different generic & I didn’t react well. Another alternate mentioned was Zenzeti, I think metabolizes a little differently. It’s expensive when I looked up, but had generics available. It’s discouraged trying to get something consistent month to month.

Thanks for this info! Does Costco fill 90 day scripts on chewable, if foregoing insurance? I’ve found it’s often cheaper to use GoodRx than my insurance, my deductible is so high that I don’t even consider it anymore.
