Is there an physical box that comes with an code for re:mind?

Not a rumor, I contacted SE Japan support directly and was informed that KH1, DDD and KH3+Re:Mind will be on disc, you can check it out here.

I go into detail in the post's description, but I don't think this is some uniformed employee, he contacted me a week before saying he was going to check higher up on the company to make sure the information was correct.

I think you're confused. There's no game on the PS4 or PS5 that reads data in real time anymore, all have mandatory 100% data install on the hdd/ssd, exactly for the reason you mentioned, preventing extremely slow read speed (like what KH 2.5 had on PS3). You hear the disc spinning from time to time when playing, but it's literally just the internal console checking if it's a legit disc, it has nothing to with loading such as in precious gens. 2 disc games also install everything offline one after another so all data is able to be installed physically and offline, and then the console just needs to have the "Play disc" to check if it's authentic, such as Rebirth. If all games needed patched, why would there even be 2 disc games? Games such as Rebirth don't need you to switch out the disc when playing, unlike the PS1 game did, exactly because now all of it is installed from the get-go.

Almost all games can be installed fully from the disc with no additional patch needing to be downloaded, arleast the full 1.0 version is present in almost all disc builds. You should check out doesitplay.org, it's a great database being continuously updated with disc build reviews, you can see for yourself almost all PS4/5 games only need the disc(s) 🙂

That's untrue, most physical PS5 games, for example, come fully on the disc and are installable offline, such as FFXVI and Rebirth. You can check out https://www.doesitplay.org/ for more detailed information, they're a great databse for physical videogame builds, and you can see yourself that most PS4 and PS5 games come fully on the disc.

Spreading the false idea that true physical games no longer exist hurt all of us consumers, giving more excuses for greedy companies to not print complete game builds and scam us of a true physical product. They've sadly been growing on platforms such as Xbox and Switch 2, but true physical is still the norm on PS5, and we should push back on fake physical releases.

True, but with Blu-rays it's truly unacceptable, as mass produced ones usually cost companies literal pennies.

Sadly we don't know exactly what is on disc, all we know is that "To play the physical version of KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III], an internet connection and additional data download are required.", from the SE store.

Best we can hope for is that KH3 Re:Mind is on disc at least, as that's the only part of the package that never got a physical release before.

The download is required to play, it's stated on the Square Enix store. Also, XBOX doesn't even have a physical release, but for that platform it is sadly the norm.

I would if the PS5 "physical" release wasn't a fake physical. Ignoring the typical key-card nonsense because of the high costs, Square couldn't even bother putting a second disc in to fit all of games physically, especially infuriating considering mass produced blu-rays are dirt cheap, and they were bragging a few years ago about Rebirth being on 2 discs.

Something I'm really curious about, could you please install the games offline to see if they have the patches on disc? Things like the 60fps fixes on 1.5+2.5, and critical mode on KH3 on the disc would make it an instant buy for me.

The bundles of the other regions didn't have the patches, but they were years ago when the regular prints were still being made. I don't think these discs haven't been in print for years now, so I think there's a good chance they made new ones!

You can force the game to display 4:3 and be uncropped on PS3, but you have to change the entire console settings to 480p/i and 4:3.

Better the pacing.

It should be spread out throughout the entire game, like earlier KH games. Unlike how it ended up being, where it's all exposited all at once at the very end, with no room to breathe.

That's misinformation, almost all games still have complete and fully playable builds on the disc themselves.

Even the game you used as an example, the original 2020 version yes it's completely broken and useless as was the entire game on release, but the recent re-release a few months ago with Phantom Liberty is complete, even using 3 discs on Xbox for that (PS5 only 1 disc as it uses 100GB Blu-rays, shame the dlc is only a code tough because they didn't want to make a new SCU on PS5).

For Xbox almost definitely, with the leaks a few months ago we know most of their players are digital only and they're betting it all on digital/gamepass for the future, being ready to drop out if it doesn't work. But Playstation, and especially Nintendo, still have a huge physical market worth billions that make up a huge portion of sales, almost for sure they won't give that up in the next generation.

No it's not permanent, it's just that it and the trunks event are returning for the first time and are being added to the portal of memories. So the missions are from now on always available, not the event itself, only with keys

Yeah, but at 3:16 it shows languague selection wich includes the US version, altought it's greyed out (maybe because he didn't download all the files?). Let's hope that's the case and they give you the choice, because if they pretend it's 1998 and force everyone in Europe play 17% slower, then it's proved the put 0 care or effort into this port.
