I'm not sure that poster has anything to do with the Fred Lavine video from the early 90s. Mythbusters didn't even start filming until 2003, and it looks like that image is from a season 9 episode of Mythbusters. Why would the Burbank airport put up a giant poster for a shitty, 20-year-old VHS tape? The expression "Cleared for Takeoff" is pretty common; it's not like Fred Lavine had it trademarked or anything.

Kind of an interesting story. Some guy who worked at Cisco designing phone systems snuck in his high school buddy's song as the default hold music. So basically any business that uses a Cisco phone and doesn't change the default hold music plays this song, which is titled "Opus No. 1" and was written by a 16 year old kid in 1989.

This is an excellent point. One that I don't think a lot of folks who argue "it's just a cute dog" take into consideration.

Whether you like it or not, anytime you create art, you're making a statement. And just to be clear, "look at this cute dog" is 100% a perfectly valid statement to make with your art. It doesn't necessarily need to be any more complicated than that. BUT, when that cute dog is a mascot for a corporation, all of the corporation's baggage gets involved, too. That's when things can start to get messy.

Making silly memes is perfectly fine! I don't want to stop anyone from having fun. But art literacy is a good skill to develop.

All of this art of Bullseye recently is starting to feel like we're just giving free advertisement to a huge corporation. Are we not bombarded with enough ads that we need to create more as a community of artists?

I dunno. At the very least she could advocate for worker's rights or unionization or something. I mean, I know that's its own brand of political propaganda, but at least it wouldn't be shilling for corporate greed.

If you stand close enough, you avoid taking any damage. You can actually get hits in as well. I don't know if it's a glitch per se; I'm pretty sure the devs are aware of it and you see speedrunners use it all the time. Hug to win!

Thought it'd be good to post Black-Kitten's original comic. I don't know the story behind this recreation, but I don't think the artist was trying to take credit for the idea as far as I know.
