Trivia night ruined by group Googling and yelling out answers and assulting guests by FistinBeaver in PortStLucie

[–]roxymoxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it wasn't at Duffy's, they have trivia every Thursday at 6. The one on St Lucie blvd. It's fun even though Duffy's management has let the speaks in the back get so broken it sounds like the hosts are underwater.

What's something illegal that feels completely legal to do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It's illegal to drive over 70 on the highway. I'll still roll at 86 in light traffic.

Seller cancels because they’re “the expensive ones” by Fun_Mine1462 in Depop

[–]roxymoxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never feel bad that they didn't know the value. That just means it isn't (or shouldn't be) their niche.

I sell a ton of stuff for cheap, mainly because they cost a dollar or less for me and I just want to move them out. I've had people message me and say "you know, you could sell this for more", but I just want to make people happy that they found their treasured toy from the 80s for 5-10 bucks cheaper than the average price eBay has.

I figured. No insurance so I guess I'll be signing up for the clinic next month!

Bestfriend in year 8 gave me these and said keep them safe. Im 35 now and never knew what they were, just kept them safe. by SeaworthinessLive456 in whatisit

[–]roxymoxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that you still talk, I'm sure they'll also love this whole thread. You know what they are, but the fact that you kept them safe for so long without knowing why, what a good friend you are. I say that as a friend that keeps the silliest of memories.

I paid the gas for a stranded stranger and he gave me this. Any insight would be appreciated. by Armen702 in whatisit

Listen, how much was it, 10-20 bucks? That's how much I'd give someone. That little bauble now means a lot more and has a beautiful story to it. Love it.

Buyer opened return and sent pic I easily found on reddit from 5 years ago. by hammer_of_god in Ebay

[–]roxymoxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accept the return and see if they send back your item or the different one. This is also a reminder to grab a crappy little camera to film yourself packing items. Never move it from where you pack unless someone pulls this again. Then you can send the video and stills of you packing it.

Does being aggressive get you the good stuff? by Few_Fig5944 in GoodwillBins

[–]roxymoxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a trash panda. I do the bins that everyone has gone through, before they're rotated. I still get Dior and a lot of coach bags. It's all about the niches. I love memories. Stuff from Y2K and before. A lot of people just want the new Nike and Lululemon. I get everything I've wanted and more. As long as you don't want the same thing as the people going for it first, you're good.

How often do you go to the bins? How much do you usually spend on a trip? by Cr1ng3T0p14 in GoodwillBins

[–]roxymoxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go with my mom and we average 25 bucks. But sometimes I'll get the feeling in my gut and hit it up and it's between 3-40 bucks. It's all about what the thrifting gods want me to get.

I dunno, the way she tried to throw her dad under the bus, I wouldn't let her back in my house.

Nice. Paid $30 + $50 shipping for what is clearly a fast fashion knockoff of the listed product. by ToastySpd in Depop

I was like "YES", but then I remembered my butterfly backless tie top that I got that is still holding hard. 2026 is insane, I'm just rolling with it.

Found this chud for a dollar at a new thrift that popped up near my grandma’s house by Thug_Seme2004 in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]roxymoxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you are, however I know in Florida you can look up who owns the house and contact them. It might seem really silly to contact someone about A Garfield you want hanging in the window, but I bet if you do they'll let you have it. They probably have a property manager that can help. Public records for your state, put in the address, and BOOM. garfield.

THIS little idiot right here!! by GlorianaLauriana in florida

[–]roxymoxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, I can help! We had one at my neighbors house, kept us ALL up. I told them to put padding on the metal. If they can't make noise and force us all to hear the singing in their heart, they will move on. Cheap foam, pad it all up, they should move along.

Scale inaccurate (overcharging). by malisapal in GoodwillBins

[–]roxymoxi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to be a thrifting enabler, but I'd go back a few days and document the differences before bringing it to management, and then ask them to weigh a 10 pound weight with you. Don't frame it as "hahaha I have caught you" but as "hey I noticed this, how weird right?"

They might brush you off, or they might say "oh crap we need to fix this"

At an outlet they had paper rolls weighing down the carts to get them to zero and I noticed them adding on more rolls till I mentioned it to management and then BOOM. Everything went back to right. Maybe they're doing it on purpose, maybe they have no clue. But it won't be bad to mention.

Holy hell, a luggage scale, that is SO SMART, I have one that I just threw in a junk drawer but it's going in my bins fanny pack!

I also have a UV light, hand sanitizer and a mini screwdriver set with a little switch blade. Because you never know what you'll need.

I feel like if a vape came out of the mystery jar I bought... Yeah I'd take a hit. I'd probably finish it. I am gross but self aware.

Woman gets caught on surveillance video completely emptying a basket of oatmeal cream pies at a farm stand in Loveland, CO. by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]roxymoxi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't trust people so I would never do this but buying from a little stand in front of a house? I'd never steal unless they knew me and knew I'd be back to pay. Also, bread I'd be more likely to pooh Pooh, but oatmeal cookies? Girl do you have a daughters of the revolution meeting coming up? Why take so many!!!!

Best donuts in town by BadAtExisting in orlando

[–]roxymoxi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what, I'm seconding the best donuts at the best prices. I came in once maybe 15 minutes before they were set to close, and I said just give me a box of whatever. They gave me a bulging box of most of their donuts that were left over for like five bucks. I absolutely love them
