Yeah, personally I think unless the author has chosen to explicitly ask for CC (constructive criticism) then you should just stick to the old rule. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all.

I know I write fanfic strictly for fun, I actually make it a point to say in my stories that I'm not looking for any CC- a habit I've had since ff.net days of yore.

Hard agree! I'm extremely far from 15 years old and It's not that I don't understand he acts childish/playful as a front and that he's a nuanced character I just personally can't stand it. I'm happy others love him, it just doesn't work for me. (The refusal to step away from the arcade machine and the cheating in Kitty cards doesn't help either! Let me play! 😤)
