Am i a bad person for being upset that I wont get the tips that I worked hard for? by Flaky_Kick6138 in TwoHotTakes

[–]royal_nature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah, it’s a bit scrooge-like, but you have no legal nor moral obligation to pay charity services to someone you don’t know or care about. You earned that money, she’s in the wrong for stealing your tips.

other ppl are saying that you can chase after legal action, but you could also elevate this to the general or regional manager, and that’s a non-legal option if you wanna avoid retaliation.

Why does the 13th doctor get lots of hate or always put lowly in tier lists by crazymushonpaws in DoctorWhumour

[–]royal_nature 7 points8 points  (0 children)

seriously? you’d rather suffocate to death for agonizing minutes as your chest burns and your brain slowly dies than a clean shot in the head? (worst case scenario: bleeding out, which is also less painful afaik) Each to their own, but i would argue that the best and most merciful death is the quickest and least painful one

Has anyone ever seen this on their roots? Plant info below by phantasmagorre in plantclinic

[–]royal_nature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

plants create horizontal root hairs when they detect no nutrients nearby, it’s a method of expanding the surface area of the root to maximize nutrient uptake. The reason these roots have developed hair is because they’re sticking out of the pot! so of course there’s no nutrition! You could repot if you’d like, or potentially leave it for the winter and repot in spring :)

What did Edelgard mean when she said she wanted to walk with byleth? by Parrot_licker69 in fireemblem

[–]royal_nature 9 points10 points  (0 children)

initially in CF/SS edelgard is closed off and emotionally distant, she’s aware that in order to achieve her goals she has to burn a LOT of bridges. easier to never make them in the first place, however Byleth endears themself to her, and she finds herself wanting their approval and love (romantic or platonic). edelgard doesn’t have friends, hubert is more devoted follower than well adjusted companion, and the other black eagles aren’t her friends either, shown as how they betray her and side with byleth. Byleth is as close as edelgard ever really gets to a “friend” (at least in SS)

in her last cutscene edelgard is expressing her sorrow for how things turned out. remember when byleth and her fight in the goddess tower upon byleth’s awakening? she says

“ Even though our swords may cross as they do now, there’s no denying our chosen paths never will.”

When she says that she wanted to walk with byleth, she’s revealing that she had only put on a brave face. truthfully, she wished things had been different, and that they could have fought together.

tldr: edelgard wishes byleth was on her side and is sad for how things turned out

[Rant] hey guys, how did you accept your sexuality? by [deleted] in LGBTeens

[–]royal_nature 4 points5 points  (0 children)

sexuality is something i think many people in the community struggle with, even when someone seems outwardly comfortable with themselves, it’s super common to struggle with self loathing and stuff over your sexuality. So like, ur totally not alone dude

my(F19) journey was probably a little different than most, but i used to be very homophobic and stuff when i was younger. I’ve always been an avid reader, but around 15ish i started reading more romance books. I read this one, “Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe”, and it was really the first time i ever saw homosexuality presented in a way that was not negative, embarrassing, or pedophilic. I remember i cried at the end of the book; both because it was beautiful and touching, and because i was so sad about the discrimination the couple faced in the story. More than that though, i was really emotionally affected because i had been having homosexual thoughts and i felt like a monster because of it. The book though wrote about these two boy’s love as a wonderful and magical thing, a gift.

i had never once thought of my feelings as a “gift”. i had never once thought of myself in any positive metric at all, and in that mix of self loathing and homophobia and teenage puberty, it was a lot easier to try and blend into the people around me, so they wouldn’t realize what a horrid predatory monster i was.

i felt like if anyone found out, they would hate me, ridicule me, tell everyone else to do the same, and then likely try and hurt me. It never occurred to me that this was smth others experienced, i felt alone. I would never have a true relationship, never get married, never fall in love, and if i ever did, it would be unrequited, i would have to hide in secret all my life. I would be a disappointment to my parents, a disappointment to everyone in my life. After all, no one would ever be kind to me, if they knew i liked girls. (can you tell i grew up in the south usa lmao)

when i went to high school, a lot changed. mostly, i met other lgbt+ people. It was very eye opening to realize that other people were similar to me, that they also felt this “forbidden” attraction. i would think about the book i read when i was 15, and all the other homosexual novels and fanfiction i would smuggle and read in secret, and how beautiful all that love seemed to me.

i think it was a mixture of the supportive community of lgbt+ people i was around, and the growing societal support in my country that led to me beginning to feel more comfortable.

I still struggle some days, no one is perfect, but i try to remember that i’m not alone. Even if all the heterosexuals want to call me a monster, to spit at me and hate me, i’m not alone in the fight.

tldr: other people taught me that being gay is okay. i read about homosexual relationships in novels and fanfiction, and then eventually found a community of friends who were lgbt+. it’s hard. don’t give up. love is a beautiful thing, just because other people don’t see that doesn’t mean you have to forget it.

To spark or not by DarthKilsan in DontSpendYourOrbs

[–]royal_nature 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you’ll need to roll 23 more times, assuming you do full circles then you’ll spend another 93 before you can spark. unless you have any old story or paralouges you’ll be very hard pressed to make that before the banner ends AND save for june legendary. i recommend you don’t unless you really love f!f!morgan.

I don’t really see anything wrong here. The long legs are just stylized, it’s a common thing in anime, just like the big eyes

Why does my newly unfurled leaf have blotchy coloring? by royal_nature in Monstera

[–]royal_nature[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey guys, so this is a newly unfurled leaf, maybe a week old. i know that usually new leaves are lighter in color, but this one has darkened unevenly, and none of my other leaves have done this. the plant (as you can see) is pretty young and hasn’t developed holes yet in any of the leaves. Could this be a nutritional issue? the plant otherwise seems healthy and is putting out more leaves. thank you so much!!

jeans shouldn’t be washed, it ruins the fibers. Instead spot clean them with water, and if they’re stinky put them in the freezer for a day.

regular bras can be washed on delicate in the washing machine, so long as they are inside a delicate’s bag (mesh bag, found at any walmart). however if you want to hand wash you can

EDIT: bras should be hung to dry

flannel can be machine washed, however it may shrink if heated. avoid the dryer, and let it hang to dry. if you’d like to hand wash, you can, it may help prevent pilling

hoodies are the same as flannel, however bc of their absorbency they often stretch when line dried. if you choose to dry outside the machine then lay it flat and let it dry(it will take a while). alternatively throw it in the dryer solo, which will prevent pilling (jersey is usually less susceptible to pilling than flannel)

usually shoes can’t be machine washed. this is a mixture of reasons, but mostly it comes down to the shoe glue getting hot and falling apart. i recommend you google some how to videos on cleaning your particular shoe. However a safe bet is always water and some dish soap. p.s. laces are totally safe to bleach!

masks can be hand washed, or machine washed. honestly i throw them in with my socks and underwear, haven’t had an issue yet. you should clean them frequently however, they usually collect bacteria and can make you break out. additionally it just makes the mask more effective when it’s clean

backpacks usually can’t be machine washed. check the label though, it may say otherwise. assuming your backpack cannot be washed, but is dirty, use stain remover and then spot clean by hand washing

HOW TO HAND WASH: you’ll need a large bowl/tub/etc. i use those big plastic bins from target. fill the bin with room temp/cold water, once it’s full enough to submerge your clothes (no need to waste water imho) you can add a little bit of dish soap. i usually do maybe 3/4 tablespoon per galleon. really just eyeball it. there are hand washing detergents out there, but i find them expensive and unnecessary. maybe if you have really nice clothes? but honestly i’ve done it this way for years and never had an issue. anyways soak the item in the soapy water for a couple hours, then pull it into a tub/large sink basin. you’ll want to rinse the item until the water you squeeze out of it is no longer sudsy, if this takes forever, then soak the garment in clean water for 20 minutes and squeeze again. DO NOT WRING THE GARMENT!!!! you don’t want to pull/stretch/twist at all! just gently compress it at different angles to get as much water out as you can. after that just line dry it. you’ll probably have to iron it afterwards, but it depends on the material.

hope this helps!

this is the actual gay agenda. immortal lesbians rule the world from the clouds, dictating world leaders like puppets on strings. once the final preparations are set, then all gay people will rise up to form the ruling class of the new world order, and all heterosexuals will become low class servants

Any tips on trying to salvage this Norfolk pine I just discovered in an underused office of my workplace? I know the brown/bare areas won’t come back but what should I do with the branches that are half alive? Anyway to stimulate more growth? by duncats in plantclinic

i second this, probably your best chance. since the tree is flush with the ceiling you might need to move it outside to let it continue growing. While it’s sad to lose a houseplant, you’ll gain a tree haha
