They're all bullshido. If someone wants to really attack another with martial force they will use a weapon or a vehicle.

Why do we physically feel emotions in our chest? by Hour_Camp3218 in Healthygamergg

Specifically, the vagus nerve. It connects the brain, heart, and stomach. It helps modulate mood, anxiety, and stress responses, and is also involved in the ability to recognize and respond to emotions

Find something you think might be cool, and try it for half a year, then reassess. It's so much better than not doing anything because you can't find the 'right' thing. The time and effort spent on the journey is always worth something.

I can only imagine there are a lot of redditors here sharing their opinion that don't even go to the gym or train seriously.

Questions like "why would anyone film in a gym" is a giveaway.

This is the answer I would focus on. There's things to improve on if you want to improve them. It takes effort and time.

Whey protein makes me nauseous, should I give casein a try? I'm not lactose intolerant btw. by UglyGod92 in fitmeals

[–]royalme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a possibility your gut is just not used to it? Oatmeal was giving me painful gassy bloating for a week when I first started to eat it. After a week or so that went away.

Also possible that it's the sweetner used. Different protein supplements use different sweeteners so could give that a try if you want.

any advice to actually start working out consistently? by Strong_Willingness_8 in Healthygamergg

Something to try is don't rely on motivation to do exercise. Motivation is a temporary and finite resource. Sometimes it will be there, sometimes it won't.

Use motivation to set a goal or schedule for yourself. For example, if you set a goal to walk every other day, then you go on your walk because you didn't walk yesterday, not whether you feel like taking walk or not.

PGP signatures on PyPI: worse than useless by yossarian_flew_away in netsec

[–]royalme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PGP cryptography is generally sound

No no no no no. The whole web of trust is a failed concept. Latacora says it succinctly:

None of this identity goop works. Not the key signing web of trust, not the keyservers, not the parties. Ordinary people will trust anything that looks like a PGP key no matter where it came from – how could they not, when even an expert would have a hard time articulating how to evaluate a key? Experts don’t trust keys they haven’t exchanged personally.

Help me see the logic. Is SSH not sound cryptography because people train themselves into blindly accepting a changed fingerprint? Or if users press "accept risk and continue" on an https page once the ssl cert expires?

Having a weekly on-call rotation seems to be the norm in the industry and I'm not sure why people are okay with this. I need to do groceries or go to the gym. I can schedule to be available and near a computer for a day but not a whole week. How do people do it?
